Enterprise doesn’t have a teacher discount, and ID.me says so directly. ID.me’s Shop page on the question reads: “We are not aware of Enterprise offering Teachers community discounts.” Enterprise’s own deals page is consistent with that. It lists a percentage-off offer, a military, government and veterans page, and a loyalty program, and none of them names teachers or other school staff.
That doesn’t leave you paying sticker price, though. If you’re pricing a rental for a conference or a summer road trip, Enterprise publishes a few rates and programs that don’t depend on your job, plus one that depends on your union. ID.me also lists a small cash back rate for every member.
How To Get The Enterprise Teacher Discount
There’s no teacher offer to claim, so the honest version of this section is a tour of what Enterprise does publish.
The 3+ day offer. Enterprise’s “All Deals & Coupons” page currently carries an offer of up to 15% off a rental of 3 days or more. The fine print on the offer page breaks that down: 10% off economy, compact, midsize, standard and full-size car classes, and 15% off other car classes. It needs a rental of at least 3 days and no more than 27, and the reservation has to be made at least 24 hours before pickup. It can’t be combined with any other discount. The offer is only available through the link in an Enterprise email, the deals page or the Enterprise mobile app, and it has a travel window and blackout dates by location, so read those before you plan a trip around it.
Military and government leisure rates. Enterprise’s military and government page lists a “5% discount off base rates” for government leisure travel. Its eligibility line says “Current federal employees of the U.S government, active-duty members, retired employees and veterans are eligible,” and it says you don’t need a military association membership. Teachers as a group aren’t named. If you’re a veteran, though, that line covers you whether or not you teach. Leisure renters need to be 21 or older, and the page lists a valid driver’s license, a valid ID and a credit card.
Enterprise Plus. The loyalty page says membership is free at the Plus level and that you earn a point for every qualifying rental dollar. Points redeem for free rental days with no blackout dates, across four tiers named Plus, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The deals page adds a limit worth knowing: free days cover the base rate, meaning time and mileage, only.
The Cash Back ID.me Lists For Everyone
ID.me’s Enterprise store page is titled “Enterprise Discounts and Cash Back for Everyone,” and it shows up to 0.5% cash back for any ID.me member. Teachers don’t get a separate rate. At the top rate that’s 50 cents back on every $100 it applies to, so it’s a small extra rather than a reason to pick Enterprise. The page says “Enterprise reports reservations and consumed rentals” and “Cash back is available on completed car rentals.” It also says using coupons and promotional codes not on ID.me may void cash back, and that some restrictions may apply.
Enterprise’s 3+ day offer is only available through an Enterprise email link, the deals page or the mobile app, and ID.me doesn’t say how those interact with its cash back link. Check the offer screen before you book, and confirm the current rate on ID.me first.
If You’re An AFT Member
AFT’s car rental page says members and their families “save up to 20%” at Enterprise, and it sends Enterprise renters to a rentalcar.com page set up for AFL-CIO leisure bookings. That rentalcar.com page doesn’t print a percentage itself, so AFT’s page is where the 20% comes from. For comparison, the same AFT page lists Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Payless and Thrifty at up to 35%. Our AFT membership guide covers who’s eligible and how to join.
Q&A
Does Enterprise have a teacher discount?
Not one that either ID.me or Enterprise names. ID.me says it isn’t aware of Enterprise offering Teachers community discounts.
Is the cash back on ID.me the same as a teacher discount?
No. It’s open to any ID.me member and isn’t tied to teaching. ID.me lists up to 0.5%, and cash back rates change, so check the current number on ID.me before counting on it.
Can I stack the 15% offer with another discount?
Enterprise’s terms say it can’t be combined with any other discount.
What about a promo code a coworker passed along?
Enterprise’s terms name three ways to get the 3+ day offer: the email link, the deals page or the mobile app. A code from somewhere else isn’t on that list, so start on Enterprise’s own page.
Which car rental brands do have a teacher discount?
Hertz, Dollar and Budget each show a teacher offer of up to 25% on ID.me. Our Hertz and Budget guides walk through how that works.
More Information:
The absence comes from ID.me Shop’s Enterprise Teachers page, and the cash back rate and restrictions come from its Enterprise store page. The offer terms, military and government rate and Enterprise Plus details come from Enterprise’s own deals, military and government, and loyalty pages. The AFT figure comes from AFT’s Car Rental savings page, and the AFL-CIO booking page is on rentalcar.com. Enterprise updates its offers on its own schedule, so confirm the dates and terms on its page before you book.
