Alo Yoga doesn’t list a discount for school teachers. The 25% off that shows up on teacher lists is its Pro Program, which Alo’s terms say is intended for certified fitness instructors. What’s open to everyone is cash back: Rakuten’s Alo Yoga page is titled with 2%, and Fluz lists 1.5%.
If you teach all day and a roundup told you Alo gives teachers 25%, or you’re pricing a pair of leggings as a gift, here’s who that 25% is for, what it leaves out, and the cash back that’s there for the rest of us.
How To Get The Alo Yoga Teacher Discount
There’s no school-teacher offer to verify for. Alo’s Pro Program page invites you to apply to join its community of certified fitness professionals to enjoy 25% off Alo apparel. Its terms say the Pro Program is intended for certified fitness instructors, who have applied and submitted proof of credentials and ID verification through Alo’s third-party verification service, SheerID. Neither page names school teachers.
Alo’s blog post about the program has the headline “Hey, Teachers: Join Our Pro Program,” but the post says the program is a community of certified yoga, fitness and Pilates teachers who can purchase Alo at 25% off.
If you hold a fitness, yoga or Pilates certification, the Pro Program is the page to read. The terms add that Alo may determine eligibility at its sole discretion, make exceptions and change eligibility criteria, so Alo makes the call. If you don’t hold one, nothing we read on Alo’s pages offers you a teacher rate.
The button below goes to Rakuten, whose Alo Yoga page is titled with 2% cash back.
What The Pro Program Covers
The terms say the Pro Program discount applies to full-price items only. It can’t be used for sale items, gift cards, collaborations and co-branded collections, the Atelier Collection, the Bag Collection, Intention Crystals, Cashmere, Mala Beads, Snowboards, the Advent Calendar or the Wellness System. Pro Program discounts also can’t be combined with any other offers, programs, promotional codes, promotional sales events, discounts or coupons.
The maximum is $2,000 per Pro Member per calendar year, calculated on the price after the discount and excluding sales tax. The discount can be used at aloyoga.com and US store locations only. The blog post says the program is now international, so the terms are the page to check on where the discount works.
If You’re Shopping For A Gift
The terms say Pro Members can’t use the discount to purchase products for anyone other than the Member, including friends, students, family or as gifts. Gift cards are on the exclusion list too. So even an instructor who qualifies can’t use the 25% on a present for somebody else.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Rakuten’s Alo Yoga page is titled with 2% cash back. Its terms say cash back isn’t available on sale items, Member Only sales, handbags, Atelier collection products and gift cards. They also say using coupon or promotional codes not listed on Rakuten may void cash back, so add a code only if Rakuten lists it.
Fluz’s Alo Yoga page says to get 1.5% cashback at Alo Yoga with a Fluz virtual card. TopCashback has an Alo Yoga page titled “Alo Yoga Offers, Cash Back, Discounts & Coupons,” but we couldn’t read a rate on our copy of it. ID.me’s Alo Yoga page says it isn’t aware of Alo Yoga offering Teachers community discounts.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t apply to the Pro Program, so we can’t say what SheerID asks for or how long approval takes. The Pro page lists a question about how often you need to renew your status and another about using the discount in-store, but the answers didn’t load in our copy. The terms say Alo may require proof of continued eligibility at any time, and may modify, suspend, revoke or terminate the program or the discount at any time, for any reason, without notice, which can include refusal of the discount at the time of purchase. We also didn’t test a Rakuten order with the Pro discount on it. Cash back rates change, so check the number on the site before you shop.
