686 gives teachers 20% off full-price items at 686.com once ID.me verifies them. The page that explains the offer lists teachers by name, next to nurses, medical providers, hospital employees, first responders and military members, so there’s no wondering whether a classroom job counts.
686 sells snow outerwear, technical apparel and accessories. If a shell jacket or a pair of snow pants is on your list before the lifts open, setting up the discount first means your cart already shows the lower price when you get there.
How To Get The 686 Teacher Discount
686 runs the offer through its service discounts page. Start by making an account at ID.me if you don’t have one, since that’s the service 686 uses to check who you are. Then verify either with the button on that page or in your shopping cart while you’re checking out. The page says that once you’re verified, “all applicable cart items will be shown as a strikethrough price reflecting your 20% discount.”
That gives you an easy test. Fill your cart first, verify, and look for the crossed-out prices before you type in any card details. If something looks off, 686 asks you to write to store@686.com.
What The 20% Applies To
The page’s wording is “full price items at 686.com.” That points away from sale and outlet pieces, but the page doesn’t say so in as many words, so let the strikethrough in your cart settle it rather than assuming. The offer is written for purchases at 686.com, so don’t count on it at a dealer’s shop.
686 has a return policy page in its site footer. If you’re ordering sizing you can’t try on first, such as a jacket you’ll wear over layers, read it before you check out.
Who Qualifies
686’s page lists teachers as one of six groups. ID.me’s page for 686 splits the same offer in two, with “20% off for U.S. Teachers” and “20% off for Canadian Teachers” both listed. Neither page says whether college faculty or school staff outside the classroom qualify. That’s decided when you verify with ID.me, so if you’re not sure where you fit, the verification step will tell you.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The page doesn’t list exclusions beyond the “full price” wording. It doesn’t say whether there’s a limit on how many orders or how much you can spend, or whether the 20% combines with a promo code, and it carries no date for the offer. If any of that matters for a big order, email store@686.com before you check out and keep the reply.
