Columbia Sportswear gives teachers 10% off through ID.me. Columbia’s own help article says it partners with ID.me to provide a 10% discount to “US military service members, students, teachers, and first responders,” and the article’s address begins COL-US, so treat this as a US offer. The article places the discount at checkout: you apply it in your bag.

If you’ve been putting off a rain shell for bus duty or a pair of boots for the fall field trip, 10% is a modest but real saving, and ID.me verification is a one-time setup. Below is what Columbia says to do, what the terms leave out, and what the pages we could read don’t answer.

How To Get The Columbia Sportswear Teacher Discount

Columbia’s help article says to create an account at ID.me, then make sure you’re logged in to shop Columbia with your verified teacher discount. Once your cart is filled, click Apply Promo Code or ID.Me Discount in your bag before checking out. The article adds that the discount amount is subject to change and that you can verify the current amount on the ID.me site, so look there before you build an order around the number.

ID.me’s Columbia store page lists 10% off for Teachers too, next to the same 10% for military members, first responders and students.

What The Terms Say

The terms printed on ID.me’s store page say you must present ID verifying eligibility. They say the offer is non-transferable and may not be applied to prior purchases, combined with any other offer or discount, or applied to gift card purchases, applicable taxes or shipping charges. So the 10% is for your own new order, and a sale code won’t stack with it.

The same terms say purchases don’t qualify for the Columbia Greater Rewards program, which matters if you collect those rewards: decide whether the 10% or the rewards are worth more on a given order. They also say Columbia reserves the right to change or cancel the offer at any time. These terms appear on ID.me’s page, not on Columbia’s help article.

What We Couldn’t Confirm

Columbia’s help article says only “teachers” and doesn’t define who counts, such as substitutes, aides or school administrators. Columbia’s discount programs page, which would be the place for a fuller eligibility list, sat behind a press-and-hold bot check when we tried it, so we couldn’t read it. We also couldn’t find a Columbia page that says whether the discount works in stores or on outlet and clearance prices. The article points you to your bag at checkout, so that’s the route we can describe. Columbia customer service can answer the in-store question.
