HughesNet doesn’t have a teacher discount that we could find. Its home page has no teacher, educator, student, military, school or discount wording on it, and its sitemap lists no page for any of them. What the home page does advertise is $25 off a month for 12 months, which is open to everyone, and Fluz lists 1.5% cash back.
HughesNet sells satellite internet for places where cable and fiber haven’t reached, so if you teach somewhere rural, it may be one of the few options you have. That makes the advertised price the thing to compare, since a teacher pays the same as anyone else.
How To Get The HughesNet Teacher Discount
There isn’t a teacher rate to claim. We read HughesNet’s home page and found nothing for educators, and the sitemap had no teacher, educator, military, discount, offer or promo page either. The page says “SAVE $25/mo. for 12 months” and lists free professional installation. Both are open to every new customer, and neither one asks for proof of a job in a school.
The one extra we found is cash back through Fluz, whose HughesNet page is titled “1.5% cashback at HughesNet.” We didn’t test whether it applies when you order directly from HughesNet, so read the terms on that page first.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Fluz is the only one of the three portals with a HughesNet page. TopCashback has no HughesNet page at the address we tried, and Rakuten’s address for HughesNet loads a general page and not a store page. On a monthly internet bill, 1.5% is small, so it’s a bonus and not a reason to choose HughesNet over another provider. The number comes from a page title and portals change them without notice, so confirm it the day you order. You can start from our Fluz page.
If You Have Other Choices
Where cable or fiber does reach your address, a provider with a real educator rate may cost less. Verizon has a monthly teacher discount on Fios, and we cover it in our Verizon Fios teacher discount post. Where satellite is the only choice, the $25 a month on the HughesNet page is the lowest number we found.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t enter an address, so we can’t tell you which plans or prices HughesNet shows for yours, what the price is after the first 12 months, or what the fine print behind the $25 says. HughesNet could offer teachers something through its support line that isn’t on its website, and a short call to 844-737-2700, the number on its home page, is the way to find out.

The details above come from HughesNet, Fluz, Rakuten and TopCashback as their pages loaded when we checked, and they change without notice. Nothing here claims a teacher discount that HughesNet hasn’t published. See more tech discounts for teachers and the posts in cash back for teachers.
