Xfinity doesn’t have a teacher discount that we could find. Comcast ran one educator offer in 2020, and the sign-up page it used now sends you to Xfinity’s general deals page, which has no teacher or educator wording on it. The route that’s left is cash back: Rakuten’s Xfinity page is titled with up to $100 cash back, and Fluz lists 1.5%.
If you’re shopping for home internet and hoping a teacher rate turns up at the end of the sign-up, it won’t, so the money to look at is the cash back on a new account.
How To Get The Xfinity Teacher Discount
There’s no teacher rate to claim. The 2020 offer is the closest thing Xfinity has had: Comcast’s release says eligible faculty, staff and administrators received a $150 Visa prepaid card, worth about two months of internet service, when they signed up for an Xfinity package. It was for households that weren’t already Xfinity customers, and it ran through the end of that year. The release named www.xfinity.com/teacher as the sign-up page, and that address now loads Xfinity’s deals page, with no teacher or educator wording in our read of it.
The route that pays today is a cash back portal. Rakuten has an Xfinity store page, and its title says up to $100 cash back. We didn’t open the terms behind that number, so check what it requires, and whether it applies to a new account or an existing one, before you sign up.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Rakuten is the one with the larger number. Fluz has pages for both Xfinity and Comcast, and each is titled 1.5% cash back. That one is for paying with a Fluz virtual card, so it’s a small extra on a monthly bill and not a reason to pick Xfinity. TopCashback has no Xfinity or Comcast page at the addresses we tried. You can start from our Rakuten page or our Fluz page.
These figures come from page titles, and portals change them without notice, so confirm the number on the page the day you order.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t create an Xfinity account or open an order screen, so we can’t tell you what a plan costs in your area or whether Xfinity serves your address. Xfinity could offer teachers something through a channel that isn’t on its deals page, and a message to its support team is the way to find out. We also couldn’t confirm what the Rakuten number needs, because we read the page title and not its terms.
