The San Diego County Fair doesn’t list a teacher discount on its own Tickets & Deals page. It does list discounts for seniors and for military members and veterans, and kids 5 and younger get in free every day. The one extra saving we found that a teacher can use is 1.5% cash back through Fluz.
The San Diego County Fair is the summer fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Admission covers exhibits, live music and more, and the rides and games run on a separate BlastPass. How To Get The San Diego County Fair Teacher Discount
There isn’t a teacher rate to claim. We read the fair’s Tickets & Deals page and found no wording for teachers or educators, and the fair’s sitemap has no page for them either. The page’s FAQ answers the discount question by sending you back to the same page, which lists the senior and military offers and nothing for school staff.
The older program is real, but it belongs to a credit union and not to the fair’s ticket office. A Mission Federal Credit Union press release describes School Staff Appreciation Days, where San Diego County school staff brought a school ID, pay stub or teaching credential to a Mission Fed branch to receive four free admission tickets. That press release is the only record we found, and the fair’s current page doesn’t mention it, so don’t plan a trip around it. Call a Mission Fed branch first and ask whether it’s running.
The way to pay a little less is cash back. Fluz lists a San Diego County Fair page at 1.5%, open to any Fluz member.
What The Fair’s Own Page Does Offer
The fair says buying at least 24 hours in advance saves on admission and parking, and it’s the saving that applies to you. Senior admission is cheaper every day for ages 62 and older, so a retired colleague or a parent coming along pays less than you do. Kids 5 and younger are free every day.
Military members and veterans can buy discounted tickets through GovX. If you served as well as teach, that’s the offer to use, since it’s the one the fair actually publishes. One catch: the box office can’t take discount codes, so anything with a code has to be bought online before you go.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Fluz is the only one of the three cash back portals with a San Diego County Fair page. TopCashback has no page at the address we tried, and Rakuten’s address for the fair loads its general page instead of a store page. The Fluz rate comes from the page title, and 1.5% on a day-out ticket is a few cents on the dollar, so treat it as a small extra and not a reason to choose a day.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
Fluz says its offer is valid only at official store locations, and its page describes the fair as “coming soon.” We couldn’t tell whether the 1.5% applies to a ticket bought on the fair’s own site, so read the terms on the Fluz page before you buy. We also couldn’t confirm whether the school staff tickets from Mission Fed are being offered now.
