As a teacher, you work tirelessly all year and deserve some downtime during the summer. While many teachers use this time for sleep and reading recovery or travel rejuvenation, teacher discounts may help keep costs down on any vacation plans you make.
Many hotel chains provide educator rates on an ongoing basis; all you need to do is inquire. Hilton Orlando provides educator appreciation rates starting at about $215 per night; this includes breakfast and early park admission to Disney Springs at Disney Springs (source). Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort honor teachers with special room rates while Hyatt all-inclusive resorts and the LINQ in Las Vegas provide educator discounts of up to 25% when presented with valid identification (source).
Other retailers, like JoAnn Fabric and Michaels, provide educators with 15% discounts in-store and online. ACE Hardware’s teacher store sells classroom supplies at discounted rates while Scholastic Teacher Store provides exclusive educator discounts (source). You may even receive teacher perks from car rental companies such as Dollar Car Rental which offers them $20 discounts; as well as restaurants and attractions like Columbus Ohio’s Center of Science and Industry where teachers receive free admission upon providing valid identification; in Tampa Florida the Stratz Center gives teachers 50% off two tickets to concerts/performances (source).
