Omni doesn’t list a teacher discount, and its own site gives no sign that one exists. The booking box on Omni’s pages has a “Special rates” menu with AAA, senior and government or military choices, and teacher or educator isn’t among them. If you carry a AAA card, that’s the rate to check first.
Omni’s about page describes 50 hotels in the United States and Canada, set in “leading business gateways and leisure destinations across North America.” Its loyalty program is Select Guest, and Omni’s FAQ says membership is complimentary.
How To Get The Omni Teacher Discount
There’s nothing to claim as a teacher. The Special rates menu reads: All Rates, AAA, Senior Discount (ages 55+), Government/Military, Promo Code, Corporate Code and Group Code. Omni’s public sitemap, the list of pages it publishes for search engines, has no page with “teacher” or “educator” in its address either.
The closest match is the government rate, and it isn’t written for teachers. Omni’s page says you must show valid ID at check-in and qualify as one of these: federal government officials (active or retired), a government contractor traveling on official federal business, military members, state, county and local government officials, or members of foreign governments. It defines valid ID as “a personnel badge or other form of valid form of ID issued by the appropriate government agency (federal, state, county or local).” Each qualifying person gets a maximum of two rooms at that rate, and it’s based on availability.
The page never mentions teachers or school employees, and it doesn’t say whether a school-district ID counts. That means nobody can promise you it works. If you want to try, call Omni’s reservation line at 888-444-6664 before you book rather than showing up and hoping.
Rates Anyone Can Check
The AAA page says “up to 14% off” and that you must provide proof of membership at check-in. Its terms add that the offer may vary by property and can’t be combined with other savings or discounts.
The senior rate is for “individuals over the age of 55,” with proper ID at check-in. Omni also sells a prepaid, non-refundable version, which takes a one-night non-refundable deposit when you book. If you’re a retired teacher, that one might fit.
One page is worth knowing about. The Omni Houston Hotel has a corporate-rate page titled “RMA Texas Public Schools /Government Rate,” which says the hotel “welcomes associates of” that group and has “provided special rates.” It doesn’t explain what RMA is, who counts as an associate, or what the rate is, so it isn’t something to plan a trip around.
Select Guest
Omni’s benefits page says members always get complimentary in-room Wi-Fi and a way to earn free nights. At the entry level, that’s 5 Omni Credits for each night you stay. Higher levels are based on yearly Tier Dollars, starting at $1,000 for Insider.
