Full disclosure: If you visit a link on this page and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Spotify is one of the world’s premier music streaming services, providing access to millions of songs and podcasts with no advertisements whatsoever. Teachers in some countries can take advantage of special subscription rates; furthermore, Spotify also provides low-cost hardware bundles specifically tailored for classroom use which include headsets, mics and Bluetooth speakers.

To qualify for the Spotify Premium Teacher Discount, you must be either an active high school or college student and possess a valid student ID. You can apply for this discount during registration by providing proof of student status – though in many cases a recent photo ID should suffice as evidence of student status.

Once approved for a discount, it will automatically be applied to your account and you can take advantage of Spotify Premium at a reduced price for up to four years; just make sure to re-verify every year to keep it!

Spotify uses SheerID, a third-party identity verification service, to confirm your enrollment in order to offer student discounts. When signing up for student discounts, you will be asked for information such as name, college/university name and enrollment type as well as date of birth, email address payment details as well as documentation that proves your student status.

As part of its discount offer, Spotify Premium users who meet eligibility requirements can also save with Hulu and SHOWTIME without ads. This offer applies both new and existing Premium users.
