At 8225 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne is home to more than 800 animals representing 195 species from regional habitats spanning Florida, South and Central America, Asia, Australia and Africa. Visitors can feed giraffes, stroke rhinoceroses or have colorful lorikeets land on them while kayaking or taking train rides, taking kayak rides or going Behind the Scenes for an amazing experience!

Apart from education, the zoo also plays an active role in conservation efforts such as providing care to ailing manatees. Plans include creating its first rehabilitation center to house stable and non-critical animals until they recover enough to return into the wild.

The zoo offers discounts to teachers, college students and local hotel guests who present valid identification to be eligible. Teachers can save 10% off general admission with valid school ID; college students can save 20% off single-day general admission with valid college ID; while local hotel guests may take advantage of a 10% savings by showing their room key card.
