How To Get The Brevard Zoo Teacher Discount
There isn’t an individual teacher discount to claim, so the way to get the school rate is to book a field trip. The Schools page tells you to fill out the Field Trip Request Form and says all field trip requests have to be submitted three weeks in advance. A school group needs a minimum of 15 students and can have up to 600, and one adult is required for every 10 children.
On the day, zoo admission for a school group is free for children under 3, $12 per child ages 3 to 17 and $19 per adult 18 and up. Programs are a separate charge: the page lists $4 per person for a 45 minute to 1 hour outdoor expedition, and says its program content is aligned with K-12 Florida Standards. How The School Rate Compares
The same page says school group rates aren’t available for summer youth groups, such as summer camps, scout groups and church groups, and that those groups pay $16.95 for children 3-17 and $28.95 for adults. Set side by side, a school child is $12 against $16.95 and a school adult is $19 against $28.95. Both sets of numbers sit on one page, so you can check the gap before you quote a total to anyone.
Bringing A Group That Isn’t A Class
The zoo’s discounts page says groups of 15 or more people are eligible for a general admission discount, plus exclusive perks. The Groups page says the discounts are for reserved groups of 15 or more, and that discounted group tickets are only available for groups visiting at the same time on the same day with reservations made three weeks in advance. It adds that groups can also get discounts on experiences and adventures as part of the visit. For a staff day or a PTA outing, that’s the page to start from.
Visiting On Your Own
For a visit that isn’t a class trip, we didn’t find a teacher ticket on the zoo’s discounts page. It lists three discounts for other groups, and says admission must be purchased at the zoo to receive any of them. AZA reciprocal admission is 50% off general admission when you show your member card and ID, for the people the membership covers only. The Florida SNAP EBT or WIC discount takes 50% off general admission for the cardholder and up to six dependents under age 18, and it’s valid only for Florida residents. The military discount is $5 off onsite admission for current military and veterans, and proof of military service is required.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The zoo has a Teacher Open House page for an adult-only evening it describes as just for teachers. The page says the event requires registration and has an admission fee of $5, and it lists the evening by weekday and day without a year, so check it before you plan around it. We also couldn’t open the zoo’s membership page, so we can’t say whether it has a teacher price, and we didn’t find anything for a teacher visiting alone with a school ID.
