Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa for failing to clearly disclose mandatory resort fees when advertising its room rates or accepting online bookings. For instance, at one property they charged $408 but failed to mention that an additional $35 mandatory resort fee would also be added at checkout.

This lawsuit seeks class-action status and seeks unspecified restitution for consumers. Hyatt Hotels Corp has declined to comment, though they operate hotels worldwide under brands including Hyatt, Thompson, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency.
