Brilliant Earth gives verified teachers a gift with purchase: a free pair of silver stud earrings when you spend over $150. The offers page says: All medical professionals, first responders, military, and teachers receive silver studs with purchase over $150. It isn’t a percent off, so the price of what you’re buying doesn’t change. The earrings are the gift.
If you’re picking out an engagement ring, an anniversary present or a pair of earrings for yourself, the studs are an extra that comes with a purchase you were already planning. They shouldn’t be the reason to spend $150, since the offer is a gift and not a price cut.
How To Get The Brilliant Earth Teacher Discount
The offers page has a Verify with ID.me button, and the policies page describes the offer this way: Receive Silver Studs with purchase over $150 at Brilliant Earth upon verifying military, healthcare, nursing, teacher, government status with ID.Me. So you verify as a teacher through ID.me first, and the gift follows from that.
The policies page then says the offer applies to purchases over $150 with use of an assigned promo code at checkout. It also says the assigned promo code must be used in the promo code box at checkout to receive the gifted earrings, so don’t skip that box when you pay.
What Comes With It
The gift is named on the policies page as a Silver Ball Stud Earring. The same terms say Brilliant Earth reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute the gift received, so the pair you get could differ from the one described.
Teachers are named on the offers page, and the policies page lists teacher next to military, healthcare, nursing and government status. Neither page says who counts as a teacher.
Holiday Shopping And Other Offers
The offers page has a FAQ that mentions holidays. It says that for Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and other major holidays, Brilliant Earth gifts exclusive jewelry that accompanies your purchase and amplifies its value. That’s a general holiday gift, and it isn’t described as a teacher offer.
The policies page says the teacher offer can’t be applied or combined with other offers available on site. On our visit, a banner on the offers page read: Receive 1/4 Carat Lab Diamond Studs With Purchase Over $1,000. Use Code STUDS in Cart. Going by the terms, if you’re buying a higher-priced piece, you’d pick between a site offer like that one and the teacher gift, not take both.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The pages don’t define who counts as a teacher, so we can’t say whether the gift covers K-12 only, college instructors, homeschool teachers, support staff or retired teachers. We didn’t see a price or value for the earrings, and the pages don’t say whether the $150 is counted before or after tax and shipping.
The terms we read name a dollar amount and no country, and they don’t say whether the offer works in a Brilliant Earth store. The code box at checkout points to ordering online. We also didn’t go through ID.me verification ourselves, so we can’t describe the steps between the button and the promo code, or say whether the code can be used more than once. The pages we read show no end date for the teacher offer, so check them again right before you order.
