Red Roof Inn doesn’t have a confirmed teacher discount. ID.me’s own page for it says so plainly: “We’re not aware that Red Roof Inn offers Teachers discounts.” What Red Roof does run are everyday discounts for AAA/CAA and AARP members, seniors, and government and military travelers, plus a few ways to pay less that never ask who you are. If you’re driving to a conference or a family visit and watching every dollar, this page covers what’s actually there.

Red Roof says its portfolio includes Red Roof Inn and Red Roof PLUS+, HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof and The Red Collection, with over 60,000 rooms in more than 715 properties in the U.S., Canada and Japan. Its deals page says the everyday discounts are “available at many locations,” which means the hotel you pick decides what applies, so your hotel’s front desk is where you confirm anything more.

What’s Actually Available

Red Roof’s deals page lists AAA/CAA, AARP, Seniors, and Government & Military discounts, and adds that ID may be required. The Government & Military offer shows “Save 10%” on that page. The senior page says 10% off Red Roof’s already low rates all year round, subject to availability, and that senior status is verified at check-in (59+), so bring an ID. The AAA/CAA and AARP savings show different percentages on different Red Roof pages, so read the number on the booking screen rather than counting on one.

None of these pages mentions teachers or school districts. Red Roof’s own Government & Military page didn’t load from any copy we could reach, so we can’t say exactly who it covers. If you work for a government body, ask the hotel whether a school employee qualifies.

Savings That Don’t Ask Who You Are

Advance Purchase is the biggest open-to-anyone offer. Red Roof says it saves up to 15% off the Best Available Rate when you book at least 7 days ahead, with an average discount of 12%, at select hotels. The catch is in the terms: full payment including taxes is due at booking, there are no credits or refunds for early departures, cancellations, no shows or other changes, and it can’t be combined with other offers. It fits a trip you’ve locked in, and it doesn’t fit one that might move.

RediRewards is Red Roof’s loyalty program. The deals page says booking direct with RediRewards gets you member-only pricing and Red Roof’s RediPromise best-rate guarantee, and that points count toward free nights. We didn’t read the guarantee’s terms. HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof hotels no longer take part in RediRewards for earning and redeeming points, though the page says member exclusive rates are available there.

Traveling with a dog or cat? At most Red Roof Inn and Red Roof PLUS+ locations, the first pet stays free. You can bring up to two well-behaved cats or dogs, 80 lb or less each, per room, and the second pet is $15 a night. Policies can vary at HomeTowne Studios and The Red Collection, so check the hotel’s page or call. Service animals and emotional support animals are always welcome at no charge.

The Cash Back ID.me Lists For Everyone

ID.me’s Red Roof Inn store page is titled “Red Roof Inn Discounts for Everyone,” and it says “Cash back is available on completed stays.” It warns that “Use of coupons and promotional codes not on ID.me may void cash back” and that some restrictions may apply. The text we could read doesn’t state a rate, and teachers don’t get a separate one, so check the offer screen on ID.me before you book.

Why This Is A Clean No

ID.me has a Red Roof Inn page under its Teachers community, and it says it isn’t aware of a teacher discount. Red Roof’s own deals, Advance Purchase and senior pages describe AAA/CAA, AARP, senior, government and military offers and never mention educators. We didn’t find a standing, advertised Red Roof educator rate that takes a school ID or a recent pay stub at check-in. If you’re set on trying, call the hotel you plan to book and ask what it can do for a school employee.

Where A Teacher Rate Does Exist

If the goal is a confirmed hotel discount for teachers, our Hotels.com teacher rate and Expedia teacher discount pages cover the 10% teacher discounts through ID.me, each with a $40 savings cap and its own conditions. Search either one for your destination and see whether the Red Roof you want is listed, since we haven’t confirmed that any particular one is.

If you belong to a teachers’ union, its travel page is worth a look too. The AFT lists hotel discounts at Wyndham (20% off the best available rate at over 9,000 participating hotels) and Hilton (12% chain-wide), plus Union Plus savings through Priceline of up to 50%. NEA Travel says members can get up to 60% off hotels worldwide with Savings Dollars, and our NEA Travel page has the details. None of those pages names Red Roof, so check the listing for your hotel.

Q&A

Can a teacher use the Government & Military discount?
Red Roof’s deals page shows 10% savings for Government & Military at many locations, with ID possibly required, and it doesn’t name teachers. We couldn’t read the detail page, so ask the hotel whether a school employee qualifies.

Do all Red Roof hotels honor the AAA, AARP and senior rates?
The deals page says they’re available at many locations, which means not every one. Confirm with the hotel you’re booking.

Can I cancel an Advance Purchase booking?
Red Roof’s terms say full payment is due at booking, with no credits or refunds for early departures, cancellations, no shows or other reservation changes.

How old do I have to be for the senior discount?
Red Roof’s senior page says senior status is verified at check-in and lists 59+, and it asks you to bring an ID.

Do pets stay free?
At most Red Roof Inn and Red Roof PLUS+ locations, the first pet stays free and the second is $15 a night, with up to two pets per room. Policies can vary at HomeTowne Studios and The Red Collection.

Is there a cash-back option for Red Roof bookings?
ID.me’s Red Roof Inn store page says cash back is available on completed stays and warns that promotional codes not on ID.me may void it. A general hotel platform with a confirmed teacher rate, like Hotels.com, is another route.

Should I still ask at the front desk?
It doesn’t hurt to ask, but there’s no confirmed corporate program backing up a yes.

More Information:

The teacher statement and the cash back wording are from ID.me’s Red Roof Inn discount page and store page. The discount list, Advance Purchase terms, senior rate, RediRewards details and pet policy are from Red Roof’s own deals, Advance Purchase and senior pages, and the portfolio and property counts are from its media center. redroof.com wouldn’t load for our direct fetch, so those pages were read from archived copies and may not match what’s live today, and its Government & Military page had no archived copy we could read. The union figures are from the AFT, NEA Travel and Union Plus hotel pages, and the Hotels.com and Expedia figures are from our own posts on each. Terms can change, so check back if you’ve heard otherwise from a specific hotel.
