Search “teacher discount” and the same ten names come back every time: Apple, Target, Michaels, Adidas. Real discounts, but well-known ones. The ten below are the ones that do not show up on the first page of results, each one confirmed directly on the merchant’s own site or through ID.me rather than copied from another list.
One thing to expect going in: proof of eligibility is not universal. Six of these run through ID.me, one through a service called VerifyPass, one through gocertify. Verifying with one does not carry over to the next, so budget a few minutes per merchant rather than assuming a single sign-up covers the whole list.
1. HelloFresh: 55% Off Your First Box
HelloFresh’s Hero Discount covers teachers by name alongside medical staff, first responders and military. New subscribers get 55% off their first box plus free shipping, and 15% off every box for the 51 weeks after that. Verification runs through ID.me or GovX, and the discount applies automatically at checkout once you’re approved, including if you’re a former subscriber coming back.

2. EyeBuyDirect: 30% Off, Plus Cash Back
Glasses rarely make anyone’s list of teacher discounts, which is exactly why this one is worth knowing. EyeBuyDirect gives verified teachers 30% off through ID.me, and on top of that, up to 6.0% cash back through the same platform.

3. AMC Theatres: Up to 25% Off Tickets
AMC’s own offers page lists student, military and senior pricing at the box office, but nothing labeled for teachers. The discount is real anyway. It just doesn’t live on amctheatres.com: it runs through AMC’s partnership with ID.me, which lists teachers saving up to 25% on tickets plus up to 2.0% cash back.

4. Chaco: 25% Off Orders Over $49
The sandal brand runs a straightforward offer through ID.me: 25% off any order over $49, no other conditions listed. Verify once at checkout and the discount applies to that order.

5. YETI: 25% Off Eligible Gear
This one needed a second look. YETI’s own FAQ page on yeti.com describes a Teacher Appreciation promotion that ran for one week back in 2023 and reads as expired. Checking ID.me directly instead of stopping at that page shows a live, current offer: 25% off eligible YETI gear for verified teachers. When a merchant’s own page and its verification partner disagree, the partner’s live page is the one to trust, since that’s where the discount is actually delivered.

6. Cricut: 15% Off, Plus Discounted Machines
Cricut’s teacher program has two parts. Materials and accessories get an extra 15% off, and five specific machines carry their own discounted price outright: the Joy 2 Essential Bundle at $109, Joy Xtra at $149, Explore 5 Essential Bundle at $199, Maker 4 at $379, and Venture at $599. Shipping is free on the whole order. Claiming it means filling out a form through a service called gocertify, which emails the discount code once you’re confirmed. It’s for personal use on cricut.com only, so it won’t work in Design Space, in a store, or on a third-party site, and new products released in the last 90 days are excluded.

7. Away: 10% Off Sitewide
Away’s discount page names the eligible group broadly: classroom teachers, principals, school employees, and college professors all qualify for 10% off, sitewide, verified through ID.me. It cannot be combined with other offers or promo codes.

8. Vera Bradley: 10% Off
A 10% discount on verabradley.com, verified through ID.me, in a single transaction. The exclusion list is longer than most: Disney, Hello Kitty, Harry Potter, Pura Vida, NFL and NCAA products, plus monogramming fees and gift cards, are all carved out.

9. Purple: 10% Off Mattresses
Ten percent doesn’t sound like much next to 55% on a meal kit, but on a mattress it’s real money. Purple gives teachers and students 10% off, online or in-store with a school ID, through its own verification button rather than a third party. The code is single-use, applies to merchandise only (not tax or shipping), and won’t apply retroactively to an order already placed.

10. Solo Stove: $15 Off Orders Over $100
Solo Stove’s Hero Discount is one of the few on this list that isn’t a percentage: a flat $15 off, on orders of $100 or more, through a one-time code issued after verifying with VerifyPass. It covers teachers alongside military, healthcare workers, first responders and government employees, and it can’t be combined with other promotions.

Q: Why isn’t Amazon, Target or Apple on this list?
A: They already have real teacher discounts, but they’re well covered elsewhere on this site and everywhere else. This list is for the ones that don’t come up first.
Q: Do I need to verify separately for each of these?
A: Yes. ID.me, VerifyPass and gocertify don’t share a login, so passing one doesn’t carry over to the others, even though several of these run through ID.me.
Q: What if a merchant’s own site doesn’t mention a teacher discount at all?
A: Check the verification platform directly before assuming it doesn’t exist, which is what turned up the YETI offer above. The reverse is also true: some platforms list a brand that, on inspection, never actually confirms a teacher rate. Several candidates for this list got dropped for exactly that reason.
