Vision Express lists 20% off glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses ordered online, and teachers are named on the verification service’s page for the offer. The retailer’s own page is written for the NHS and other key workers and never uses the word teacher, so we’ll be clear below about which page says what. It’s also a UK-style page, with prices in pounds, and we couldn’t confirm the offer works for orders from outside the UK.
If you’re a teacher in the UK and your glasses are due for a replacement, 20% off the frame and the lenses together is a real saving, and the check takes a few minutes. The steps below are the ones Vision Express publishes.
How To Get The Vision Express Teacher Discount
Start on Vision Express’s key workers page. It says Vision Express is offering a 20% discount to NHS and other key workers, and that to claim it you verify your employment status through gocertify, the service that runs the check. Vision Express lists two steps: log in to gocertify, then upload your employment document (a Work ID or payslip) or your work email. It says the verification typically takes 1-2 minutes, and that once you’re verified you’ll receive a discount code to use at checkout.
The teacher part comes from gocertify. Its Vision Express teacher page is headed “Teachers get 20% off online at Vision Express” and tells you to verify your employment to get your teacher discount code. Vision Express’s own page describes the offer as being for people working in essential industries such as healthcare, transportation and public safety, so the listing for teachers rests on gocertify’s page rather than the retailer’s. If the check gives you trouble, Vision Express points you to gocertify, since gocertify runs the service.
What The 20% Covers
Per Vision Express’s terms, the 20% is valid on glasses, sunglasses including prescription sunglasses, and contact lenses only. On glasses and prescription sunglasses it applies to the frame and the lenses, add-ons included. That’s the useful detail if your prescription needs coatings or a thinner lens, since those are part of the 20% too.
The offer is online only at visionexpress.com. The terms say the discount can only be applied online and not in store, so plan to order from the website with your code rather than walking into a branch with it.
What It Doesn’t Cover
The terms say the discount isn’t valid in conjunction with any other offers or discount codes, and they name outlet as an example. They also exclude the £25 glasses and £15 sunglasses, discounted lines (Sale and Outlet), and other promotional offers, codes and schemes such as the student discount and corporate partner offers. A teacher who’s also a student has to pick one code, because the student discount is on that excluded list.
A set of brands and collections is left out as well: Chanel, Prada, Miu Miu, Cartier, Persol, Jimmy Choo, Ray-Ban | Meta (AI Glasses), Ray-Ban Change, Ray-Ban Reverse and Oakley Physiomorphic. The terms add that selected new lines not shown in its list are excluded too, so check the specific frame before you build your order around it.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The FAQ on Vision Express’s page says the discount is available for a limited run, and the page prints no end date. Check that the offer is still live on the day you order. We also didn’t verify through gocertify or place an order, so the 1-2 minutes is Vision Express’s figure, not our timing. And since the page prices things in pounds and names the NHS first, we can’t say whether a teacher outside the UK can be verified or can check out with the code.
