How To Get The LASIK Teacher Discount
Start on TLC’s Teachers & Educators Discount page. It says TLC is offering a special 20%* off on LASIK Eye Surgery as a thank-you for educating our future. To take advantage of the offer, the page says to schedule a free consultation. Nothing on the page asks you to send proof of teaching, and it doesn’t say how your status gets checked, so that’s a question for the consultation.
TLC also says its team will conduct LASIK-specific eye testing at that visit to make sure you’re a medically safe candidate. The discount only matters if you are one, so the consultation is the real first step.
What The TLC Page Doesn’t Say
The 20% carries an asterisk, and the page we read prints no footnote text. That means we couldn’t confirm what the 20% applies to, whether other offers can be combined with it, or whether it has an end date. Ask for the discount to be written on your quote, and ask what the quote includes before you compare it with another practice’s number.
For a sense of scale, LasikPlus says its average selling price for LASIK and PRK is around $2,595 per eye, and that costs typically range from $1,500 to $5,000 per eye nationally. A percentage off a quote tells you less than the full quote does, so get the total, per eye or for both, in writing.
Practices With Their Own Teacher Offers
Triad Eye Institute (Oklahoma). Its Teachers LASIK Discount page says the practice is proud to offer Oklahoma educators exclusive pricing on LASIK. The page lists no percentage or dollar amount, so the price comes from the practice. It points you to a free LASIK screening.
Dr. Holzman (McLean, Virginia and Chevy Chase, Maryland). The LASIK for Teachers page is headed “Get $500 Off Your Vision Correction Procedure” and tells you to contact the practice to claim the discount. It doesn’t say whether the $500 is per eye or for the procedure, and it gives no end date, so ask both when you call. The page’s disclaimer says results are not guaranteed, may not be permanent, and can vary per individual.
What We Couldn’t Confirm At LasikPlus
LasikPlus has no teacher page that we could load. The address that search engines list for one returns a page-not-found error. Its discounts page names military and first responder rates, vision plan discounts of 10–20% through plans like EyeMed and UHC, and referral coupons, and it says promotions vary by location and season. It has no teacher or educator wording. If you have a vision plan, that vision plan line may be the one that applies to you.
Paying With A Health Savings Or Flexible Spending Account
TLC’s page says LASIK is an eligible expense for both Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts, and that many patients use them as a partial or full payment option, taking advantage of tax-free savings. If you have either account, ask the practice for an itemized quote you can send to your plan administrator.
