SimpliSafe takes 50% off a new home security system for teachers, and its definition of a teacher is the widest of any program we have checked. The offer runs through SimpliSafe’s Protectors Program alongside military, medical staff and first responders.
Who Counts, and Why It Is Unusually Broad

SimpliSafe names the group as “Teachers & Educators Including Pre-K, K-12 & Professors”.
Read that against the rest of the category and it stands out. Most education programs pick a tier and exclude the others:
- Canva is K-12 only and explicitly excludes preschool assistants and all of higher education.
- Apple covers K-12 school employees.
- AT&T covers K-12 classroom teachers plus college professors and instructors.
SimpliSafe covers all three tiers in one sentence. A pre-K teacher shut out of most programs on this list qualifies here.
Its own FAQ repeats the scope: the discount goes to “Members of Military & Armed Forces (Active Duty, dependents and Veterans), Medical Professionals, Teachers & Educators and First Responders including Police, Fire and EMT that are verified through VerifyPass.”
What the 50% Applies To
This is the part to get right before you fill a cart. SimpliSafe states the discount “is only available on SimpliSafe.com and only valid on any new SimpliSafe system.”
A system, not a device. Adding a single camera or an extra sensor to equipment you already own is not what this covers. It is aimed at the first purchase, which also means it is worth buying the configuration you actually want rather than a starter bundle you plan to extend at full price later.
How Verification Works
Verification runs through VerifyPass, which is a third system alongside ID.me and SheerID and does not carry over from either. SimpliSafe notes you “may need to create a free account to verify on VerifyPass”.
Once verified, “VerifyPass will give you a coupon to use in-cart on any new SimpliSafe system.” The limits SimpliSafe publishes are worth knowing up front:
- One code per customer, valid for one year
- Limit one code per 24 hours on the verification side
- Codes “may not be combined with other discount codes from this program or other discounts or promotions or applied retroactively”
- US only, 18 or over, and “for personal use only”
The retroactive clause matters most. If you bought recently and then found this page, the discount cannot be applied backwards.
