We couldn’t confirm a Qdoba teacher discount. Qdoba’s rewards, about and gift card pages don’t describe any program for educators, and nothing on them says a school ID takes money off the bill. What we did find is a way to get some of your lunch money back: Fluz lists 8.5% cash back when you buy a Qdoba gift card, Qdoba has a rewards program, and its fundraising program may suit a classroom or school club.

Qdoba says it got its start in 1995 and describes its food as freshly made in its own kitchens, from flame-grilled steak and chicken to hand-crafted guacamole. It also says it hosts fundraisers in over 700 local restaurants, and that its partnerships with No Kid Hungry in the US and Toonies for Tummies in Canada have raised funds and provided more than 5 million meals to children.

How To Get The Qdoba Teacher Discount

There’s nothing to claim at the counter that we could verify. The rewards page, the about page and the gift card page all explain how Qdoba works without naming a teacher or educator program, so as far as we can tell a school ID won’t change what you pay. If a restaurant near you does something of its own, we haven’t seen it, so it’s fair to ask at the register, though we can’t promise what the answer will be.

Qdoba Rewards is the first thing worth a look. Members earn 1 point per $1 spent, and it takes 125 points in the U.S. to get a free entrée. New members get free queso and chips with the purchase of an entrée, a reward that’s for new members only. Birthdays count too: members get free queso and chips, and Gold Status, which takes 12 visits in a year, brings a free entrée instead. Qdoba says an earned reward expires 60 days after you earn it, so use it before it lapses.

If you’re a teacher raising money for a classroom, a club or a field trip, Qdoba runs a fundraising program that donates 25% of sales from online, in-restaurant and catering fundraising orders back to the organization. The fundraising page lists schools among the groups it supports, with chess teams, field trips and STEAM projects as examples. To start, you submit the restaurant location and the name of your organization, and Qdoba mails a check to the organization after the fundraiser. There’s an eligibility list on the page for checking whether your class or club is a good fit, and we haven’t confirmed whether a single classroom qualifies, so read that list before you promise your students a taco night.

The money back comes from Fluz. Its Qdoba page lists 8.5% cash back on e-gift cards from $25 to $250, delivered digitally to your Fluz account when you buy. Fluz says it doesn’t charge a fee to buy a gift card, and that you can usually pay with a credit card, debit card, Fluz balance or bank account, depending on the merchant. Qdoba’s own gift card terms say cards don’t expire, can’t be refunded, and can’t be used to buy another gift card, so buy an amount you’ll actually eat through. Fluz lists these cards as redeemable in-store only and limited to the United States, while Qdoba’s page says its cards also work on QDOBA.COM and in the app, so the safest plan is to pay with the card at the counter. We couldn’t confirm whether paying with a gift card still earns Rewards points, so ask at the register if that matters to you.

Cash back rates move, so check the percentage on the Fluz page before you buy. It’s the same rate any Fluz user gets, which means it isn’t a teacher benefit, but it works just as well for a teacher on a lunch break.

More Information:

Qdoba’s site wouldn’t load for our usual text check, so the details on its rewards, gift cards and fundraising come from the pages as they appeared in a browser, and the cash back details come from Fluz’s Qdoba page. Reward amounts and the cash back rate change from time to time. If Qdoba lists a teacher program we couldn’t see, it’s not one we could confirm.
