Pottery Barn Kids doesn’t list a teacher discount. We read its Key Rewards page, help topics, coupons page and business program page, and none of them mention teachers or educators. What does exist isn’t tied to being a teacher: the free Member tier of The Key Rewards earns 2% back in Silver rewards, the Key Rewards Visa earns 5% back in Gold rewards, and Fluz lists 6.5% cashback on Pottery Barn Kids gift cards. That last one is cash back on a gift card you buy, not cash back on an order, and we explain how it works below.
Say you’re a first grade teacher buying a crib bedding set for a coworker’s baby shower. There’s no classroom code to type in, so you’re choosing between Fluz gift cards at 6.5% and the free Key Rewards tier at 2%. Whether you can have both on one order is something we couldn’t confirm, and it’s covered below.
How To Get The Pottery Barn Kids Teacher Discount
There isn’t a teacher discount to claim. The coupons page says signing up for emails covers closeout sales, clearances, flea deals and special promotional offerings, and it doesn’t mention teachers.
The cash back route we found is Fluz, which lists 6.5% cashback when you buy a Pottery Barn Kids gift card. Its e-gift cards are available from $25 to $1,000 and are redeemable in store and online. To be plain about it, this is gift card cash back: you buy the e-gift card through Fluz, it’s delivered digitally to your Fluz account, and you pay with it at Pottery Barn Kids. The Pottery Barn Kids help topics list a Pottery Barn Kids Gift Card among their payment methods.
The Key Rewards: Free Tier And Visa
The Key Rewards works across eight brands, Pottery Barn Kids among them. Members can join for free and earn 2% back in Silver rewards on qualified purchases, and the help topics say you use your registered phone number at checkout to earn it. Cardmembers earn 5% back in Gold rewards with the Key Rewards Visa. On any one transaction you earn one or the other, not both.
The rewards aren’t instant. The page says that 30 days after you earn $10 or more in Silver rewards, or $20 or more in Gold rewards, a reward code is sent to your inbox, and your account balance updates 48 hours after purchase or shipment.
If you’re weighing the card, the page says new cardmembers earn 10% back across the eight brands (excluding GreenRow and Dormify) during the first 30 days from account opening, then 5%. It also says the card is subject to credit approval, lists a $0 annual fee, and shows a purchase APR of 29.24% variable.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Fluz’s Pottery Barn Kids page lists 6.5% cashback on gift cards. It says anyone who creates a Fluz account can purchase a gift card, that Fluz doesn’t charge any fees to purchase one, and that you can apply a maximum of 10 gift cards to your order at this merchant. The specifications list the country restriction as United States only.
Returns work differently with a gift card. Fluz says that when you make a return, the funds are refunded to a gift card with that merchant, and the Pottery Barn Kids help topics say a refund on something originally bought with an eGift Card is issued as a merchandise credit you can use online, in stores or by phone. The help topics also say you may not return or cancel an eGift Card after it’s received. So a return means store credit, not money back on your own card.
We didn’t find a store page for Pottery Barn Kids on Rakuten, which showed only a generic page at that address, and the TopCashback addresses we tried for Pottery Barn Kids came back not found. Rates change, so check Fluz’s number before you buy a card.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t buy a gift card, join Key Rewards or apply for the Visa, so we can’t show you a checkout price. The pages we read don’t say whether you earn Key Rewards on the part of an order you pay with a gift card, or whether a coupon or promotion can be combined with one. The coupons page says some exclusions apply and sends you to a details link we didn’t follow. We read Pottery Barn Kids’ US pages only, and none of them state holiday terms for teachers.
Q&A
Does Pottery Barn Kids give teachers a discount?
Not that its own pages say. The Key Rewards page, help topics, coupons page and business program page don’t mention teachers or educators.
How much cash back can I get?
Fluz lists 6.5% on Pottery Barn Kids gift cards. That’s gift card cash back, not cash back on an order paid another way.
What does the free Key Rewards tier give me?
2% back in Silver rewards on qualified purchases. A reward code is sent to your inbox 30 days after you earn $10 or more in Silver rewards.
Can I earn 5% Gold and 2% Silver rewards on the same order?
No. The page says you earn either 5% back in Gold rewards as a cardmember or 2% back in Silver rewards as a member on a transaction, not both.
What happens if I return something I paid for with a gift card?
Fluz says the funds are refunded to a gift card with that merchant, and Pottery Barn Kids says the refund comes as a merchandise credit.
Is this the same as the Pottery Barn post?
No. Pottery Barn Kids is its own site. Our Pottery Barn post covers Pottery Barn.
