As a schoolteacher, you may take advantage of numerous discounts at different stores – Target offers 15% off classroom supplies; IKEA gives 20%; Amazon also discounts several items; some museums also provide special teacher deals and discounts, such as Museum of Science and Industry where teachers may gain free or reduced-price entry when showing their ID cards.

Julius Rosenwald, Chairman of Sears Roebuck and Company, supported the Commercial Club of Chicago’s plan to establish a museum of science and technology in Chicago. They appointed Waldemar Kaempffert as its inaugural Director who helped secure its site and develop initial programs.

At present, the Museum of Science and Industry offers discounts as follows:

Individual Memberships

Museum members enjoy complimentary admission for themselves and one guest throughout the year with valid membership cards bearing the American Science and Trade Center logo. However, this benefit isn’t valid for science centers and museums located over 90 miles from MsTC; additionally the membership card cannot be transferred or used online ticket purchases. Families holding EBT (Link) or WIC cards may purchase $3 Basic admission tickets per adult to cover up to two adults plus children in their care.
