The Morton Arboretum, a world-renowned botanical garden on 1,700 acres, provides exhibits, classes and programs to inspire visitors to appreciate trees and the environment. As well as offering educational opportunities, the Arboretum boasts a library that contains rare and valuable horticultural, architectural, historic nursery catalogs, landscape drawings, maps, books, letters and institutional records. Furthermore, its Suzette Morton Davidson Special Collections contain historical photos, botanical art works and letters from renowned horticulturists such as May Theilgaard Watts and Jens and Marshall Johnson among many others.
Museums for All allows low-income families to visit museums at discounted rates with an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, while The Arboretum also provides scholarships to participants of education sessions who would otherwise not be able to attend.
Teachers can get a 25% discount off tickets on Tuesdays throughout the year when purchasing in advance for themselves and one guest, so long as the tickets don’t include timed entry tickets or are purchased directly at the gatehouse.
