GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Teachers can save big at meijer this year as the retailer expands their 15% teacher discount for back-to-school season by including office furniture and kids apparel among eligible items for savings. Teachers can receive this savings offer by showing their school ID at any meijer customer service desk to receive their voucher good until September 6th.

Studies by Adopt A Classroom have shown that teachers spend on average $750 out-of-pocket annually for classroom supplies,” according to meijer senior director of merchandising May Graceffa in a release. Additional savings in categories such as kids apparel and cleaning supplies help further ease educators’ burden when stocking classrooms for the new school year.

Meijer believes the newly announced teacher discount offer aims to meet the needs of teachers seeking additional savings when stocking classroom supplies, managing remote workspaces at home, and prepping their families for back-to-school season. With 15 percent discounts off school and back-to-school supplies announced last week, these additional savings on classroom and home office items come as welcome additions.

Teachers from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin who present an active school ID to any meijer store customer service desk will qualify for a discount coupon that can be redeemed at checkout, along with any mPerks rewards earned for each purchase.
