Zoo Miami takes $3 off regular admission for teachers and up to five additional guests, and you get it in person, not online. The tickets page says valid school photo identification is required at the time of purchase, and that these tickets must be purchased onsite at the ticketing building.
If you’re a teacher heading to the zoo with your own kids and a couple of their friends, the up to five additional guests is the part that matters. Regular admission on the same page is $30 for adults 13 and older and $26 for children 3-12, with children 2 and under free.
How To Get The Zoo Miami Teacher Discount
Go to the ticketing building and show your school photo ID when you buy. The tickets page says the discount is $3 off regular admission for teachers and up to five additional guests, that valid school photo identification is required at the time of purchase, and that the tickets must be purchased onsite at the ticketing building.
The page also says other discounts are not valid with any other group, promotion or discount offer, so you’d use this one on its own. The zoo’s FAQ says it offers various discounts for military, seniors, teachers, schools, camps, groups and more.
Bringing A Class To Zoo Miami
The field trips page lists $12 per student plus tax. It asks for a minimum of 15 students, and says field trip pricing is available on weekdays Miami-Dade Public Schools are in session.
The chaperone line includes teachers, aides, counselors, staff, volunteers and parents, with 1 free chaperone for every 10 paying students or campers, and the page says required chaperones receive free admission. Each additional chaperone is $15 plus tax. Chaperones have to be added to the order to get the discounted chaperone rate, and any chaperone not on the order must buy a general admission ticket at full rate. The page says that if reservations aren’t made before the field trip date, full admission rates are charged.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The tickets page doesn’t define “teachers,” and it doesn’t say what a school photo ID has to look like. We didn’t see an end date for the offer. It also doesn’t say whether the $3 comes off each ticket or off the order, so ask at the ticketing building before you pay.
