Maryland Science Center was established in 1797 and recently earned a ranking as one of Parents Magazine’s Top Ten Science Centers in America. Today, this Baltimore museum engages, inspires and motivates visitors of all ages through an impressive array of interactive exhibits, traveling exhibitions, lab experiences and original presentations at its world-famous Davis Planetarium; larger-than-life movies at five-story St John Properties IMAX Theater; as well as hundreds of outreach programs throughout each year. Maryland Science Center exhibits make science accessible and enjoyable for over half a million visitors yearly, including 65,000 students through our education and community outreach programs. Constellation has long been one of the museum’s enduring patrons, helping expand numerous programs such as Sacks for Science which offers assistance for admission fees and bus transportation for local school groups.
Addison Plourde, 10, and Kamryn Plourde, 7, both from Bel Air, were amazed to discover why human ribs form an arch. Body Worlds 2 provided them with an informative experience. The girls found the explanation fascinating.
The Maryland Science Center Traveling Science program brings hands-on, engaging science learning experiences directly into pre-schools, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools across Maryland. MSC also offers resources for parents at home who support STEM – from at-home activities to workshops – while MSC partners with corporations to offer unique employee engagement opportunities including in-person events as well as livestreamed group content.
