Experience up close-up encounters with some exotic animals at the Indianapolis Zoo. This local zoo houses animals from around the world and offers exciting experiences such as dolphin in-water adventures, Animal Art Adventures and more.
This year, the zoo unveiled an exhibit featuring red kangaroos native to Australia. Visitors are allowed to walk through large open areas without any barriers or fencing so you can get up close and personal with these adorable animals!
The Zoo offers many special events throughout the year to keep guests engaged. These include Christmas at the Zoo in November and December, as well as Zoobilation – a winter wonderland.
Are you a teacher planning on visiting the zoo? Don’t forget that August 29 is Educator Appreciation Day! Teachers can receive complimentary admission with pre-registration.
Connect by Topic Sessions – These 30-minute programs allow your students to engage with Zoo educators on a specific topic and ask questions about wildlife conservation. They’re available for classrooms of up to 30 students.
Virtual Classroom Connect Sessions – These online programs bring the Zoo alive into your classroom using technology. Sessions last 30 minutes and can be scheduled with advanced notice.
Project-Based Learning & Service Learning Activities at The Zoo – At The Zoo, we strive to inspire and engage Indiana schools in local conservation projects through project-based learning. If your school’s project relates to the Zoo, its habitats or animals in any way, email us and we’d be glad to assist!
