HP doesn’t say what proof a teacher sends. The terms say HP can confirm eligibility “via electronic, mail or other means at any time,” in a sentence worded around students, and the page names no ID.me, SheerID or school email rule.
Who Counts As A Teacher
HP’s terms say the program is open to students and their parents or guardians, as well as teachers, who live in the United States. The page has a Teachers and University staff tile and describes the program as for students, teachers, parents and faculty. It doesn’t define teacher by grade level or school type, and the K-12 text on the page is written for students and parents. If you’re not a classroom teacher, read HP’s wording before you count on it.
What You Can Buy And How Much
HP’s terms say program purchases are limited to 2 PCs, 2 tablets, 10 accessories (including CarePacks), 2 printers and 12 supplies per calendar year, and that going over can get you removed from the program at HP’s sole discretion. The terms don’t say what counts as a supply, and they don’t spell out when the yearly count resets.
HP’s list of qualifying purchases covers select consumer PCs (HP, Pavilion, Envy, Spectre and Omen brands), select business PCs (Elite, Pro and Workstation brands), accessories and printers. Ink and toner are the catch. The terms say they’re no longer eligible for program discounts, although one line of the same terms still lists select ink, toner and paper among qualifying purchases. HP says members can also get exclusive, time-sensitive offers and product announcements that general store customers don’t see, and that HP can change or cancel those offers at any time. The terms also say program offers may not be combined with other product offers, discounts, coupons or program benefits unless explicitly stated, and that program purchases can’t be combined with the HP Loyalty and Referral program. The education page has no Black Friday or Cyber Monday wording, so during a big sale, compare your member price with the public sale price before you check out.
What ID.me Says
ID.me’s HP teacher page says it isn’t aware that HP offers Teachers discounts. That tells us only that ID.me has no listing for HP. HP’s own page names teachers and doesn’t use ID.me.
