Gilroy Gardens earned its fame due to the garlic festival that takes place here every year; however, Gilroy Gardens offers much more. Aimed at families looking for fun yet education combined, children can laugh, play and learn about trees and plant life from this family-oriented theme park. As well as traditional theme park rides such as rollercoasters and ferris wheels, there are also educational tours such as an Agricultural Tour, Garden History Tour and Water & Environment Tour on offer here.
Visitors to the park can explore six distinct garden areas filled with blooming flowers that change with each season: camellias, hydrangeas and Japanese maples are bursting into color in spring while roses, lilies, and tulips take over in fall. Furthermore, five distinct waterfalls provide visitors with ample opportunity to take a ride through them via one of several giant buckets that pour gallons of water onto anyone standing below it!
After an exciting day of riding, walking, and exploring at a theme park, kids will work up an appetite. Luckily, they have many food options at the theme park to satisfy those cravings: Hot dogs and funnel cake are traditional choices; vegetarian and vegan-friendly items may also be found there. In addition, seasonal menu items include trick-or-treating in October before Halloween; visits with Santa at North Pole Ice Palace during December visits; as well as barbecue on 4th of July festivities!
In 2023, the park will launch its Fantastical Flowers Spring Celebration: two months of colorful blossoms and larger-than-life silk flower sculptures throughout its gardens. Visitors will also discover floral-themed activities and games for family entertainment, plus food and drinks with floral themes.
