GE Appliances gives teachers a discount through its private store, and you verify once through ID.me. Its teachers discount page says the teaching discount “will be applied automatically to any appliance that is $99 or above” bought through the private store site, and it doesn’t state a percentage.
If you’re pricing a new appliance, the private store is where the teacher pricing lives, and the page doesn’t post a number ahead of time. We’ve gathered what it does say below.
How To Get The GE Appliances Teacher Discount
The page lays out three steps. First, you verify your membership through ID.me, which it calls a “simple, one-time verification process.” Second, you’re taken to the GE Appliances Store, where the page says you’ll receive exclusive pricing on appliances throughout its House of Brands. Third, it says “We will automatically apply your teachers discount (or students discount) to your online cart after you select your appliances for purchase.”
The one-time part matters if you shop in more than one sitting. The page’s FAQ says “Getting verified via ID.me is a ONE-TIME process.” The button below goes to GE Appliances’ page, where the verify button is.
What The Discount Covers
The page ties the discount to the private store: it’s applied to any appliance that is $99 or above that you choose to purchase through the private store site. A FAQ in the page’s source code names one exclusion: “Yes. These discounts cannot be applied to Monogram® brand appliances. All other brands available in our private store are eligible for educator and student appliance deals.”
Where It Ships
The program page doesn’t name a country. The private store’s own text reads “We do not offer shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, or P.O. boxes,” so an address in any of those places is out. Canada has its own listing on ID.me for geappliances.ca, and that listing says its discount program is only for products on that site, so it’s a separate program from this one.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The page doesn’t publish a percentage or dollar amount for the teacher discount, and it gives no end date. We didn’t verify, so we haven’t seen the prices a teacher sees in the store. ID.me’s listing for the store has shown a Teachers offer with a percentage on it, along with a window in which it’s valid. Since that number belongs to its own window, we haven’t printed it here, and it isn’t a standing rate.
The page defines who counts as a student, but for teachers it says only “teachers” and “educators.” It doesn’t say whether substitutes, retired teachers or other school staff qualify. The Monogram exclusion comes from a FAQ in the page’s code that doesn’t show on the page itself, so if Monogram is what you’re shopping for, ask the store before you count on it either way.
