e.l.f. Cosmetics gives teachers 25% off an order of $30 or more, as a one-time coupon code. You get the code by verifying that you teach through GoCertify, a third-party verifier that e.l.f. links from its promotions page, and e.l.f. says the offer is only available on its US website.
If you restock your makeup bag a few times a year, or you’re putting together small gifts for the whole grade-level team, 25% is worth the few minutes of verification. The code can only be used once, so it pays to have your cart ready before you redeem it.
How To Get The e.l.f. Cosmetics Teacher Discount
On e.l.f.’s promotions page, the offer is headed “Thank you for your service! Get 25% off your purchase.” The page says e.l.f. is giving an exclusive discount to Teachers, First Responders, Healthcare Workers and Military, and that your cart will be discounted when your order reaches $30+.
The Get discount button on that page goes to GoCertify’s e.l.f. page, where Teacher Discount is one of the groups, listed with Healthcare, Military, First Responder, Government and Care & Social Worker. GoCertify’s teacher page is headed “25% off for Teachers at e.l.f Cosmetics” and says “Teachers can now benefit from 25% off. Verify your employment to get your e.l.f. Cosmetics teacher discount code.” Once you have the code, you redeem it at checkout.
What You Can Use To Verify
GoCertify’s FAQ page lists what you can use as proof. Pick whichever you have on hand:
- A staff ID badge issued by your school, college or university, showing your name, photo and institution.
- A teaching license or certification, such as a state teaching license (US), a QTS certificate (UK) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A recent payslip from within the last 3 months, with the salary details covered or blanked out.
- Confirmation using your work email.
- A letter from your school confirming your current employment, on official letterhead.
- A pension document showing your name and school, with the salary details covered.
If something goes wrong, the FAQ says the service is run by gocertify.me, and that questions about verification or eligibility go through the Support button on the page.
Who Counts As A Teacher
e.l.f.’s own page says only “Teachers.” The definition comes from GoCertify’s FAQ, which lists full-time and part-time teachers at any level from early years through secondary or high school, college and university lecturers and professors, teaching assistants and classroom support staff, and supply, substitute and agency teachers. It also lists school administrators and support staff such as school counselors and librarians, homeschool educators registered with a homeschooling body where applicable, and retired teachers who have a pension document that mentions their former role.
The Fine Print
e.l.f.’s disclaimer says you receive 25% off your order of $30 or more when you redeem your coupon code at checkout. The code can only be redeemed once, it can’t be combined with other coupon codes or percent off discounts, and it isn’t applied to any new or sale-priced items. The purchase terms add that only one code may be used per order, and that promotions aren’t valid for bulk orders or for gift card purchases.
The same page lists a separate 20% Student & Graduate Discount, which works by verifying your status with Student Beans. It’s a separate program from the teacher code.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
e.l.f.’s disclaimer for the teacher offer gives no end date, and neither its promotions page nor GoCertify’s teacher pages mention holiday terms for the code. GoCertify’s Offer Terms page repeats the same 25% off $30 terms and ends with an end date that has already passed, which e.l.f.’s page doesn’t mention, so we can’t tell you from the pages how long the offer runs. We also can’t say how long a code stays good after you get it, or whether it works alongside e.l.f.’s free shipping or free gift offers, since the disclaimer only names other coupon codes and percent off discounts. We didn’t submit anything for verification.
