The Texas State Aquarium doesn’t list a discount for individual teachers. What it does list is a discounted rate for school groups of 10 or more, plus a field trip rate for self-guided school visits, and both need a reservation.

If you were hoping to show a school ID at the ticket booth in Corpus Christi and pay less, that isn’t a listed route. If you’re bringing a class, there’s a real one, so here’s who to call, what the aquarium says about chaperones and bus drivers, and what’s available if you’re coming on your own.

How To Get The Texas State Aquarium Teacher Discount

For a class, start with the self-guided field trip page. It invites you to book a self-guided school visit and says groups must make a reservation ahead of time to receive the field trip discounted admission. Reservations are taken during office hours, Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., one week before your visit. The page doesn’t print a price. It says to email or call 361.881.1250 for pricing, and to arrange the trip you can call 361.881.1265, email, or fill out the reservation request form on the page.

The Discounts & Deals page describes a discount for groups of 10 or more and says the aquarium would like to accommodate your group, club or even school classroom at a discounted rate. It gives a shorter lead time than the field trip page does, 24 hours in advance, so if you’re booking a class, give it the full week the field trip page asks for.

What Teachers Get On A School Visit

The field trip FAQ says each group of 10 students or more must always be accompanied by a teacher or a chaperone, and that chaperones must be at least 18. Bus drivers receive complimentary admission. Any additional teachers, chaperones or parents arriving with the group are charged the Self-Guided Adult discount group rate. The page doesn’t say how many adults are covered by the group price, so ask that when you call.

The same FAQ says no additional coupons, passes or other discount offers can be applied to the Education Group Discount or the Self-Guided Adult discount. Memberships are a separate track: the aquarium’s membership questions page says memberships are for individuals and families only, and that it offers discounts on group sales.

Visiting On Your Own

If you’re coming without a class, the Discounts & Deals page lists a few ways to save, and none of them is specific to teachers. Military personnel and veterans receive $5 off regular admission and show identification verifying their service on-site. Texas Lone Star Card holders who live in Nueces, Kleberg, San Patricio or Aransas counties pay $3 per person on select Lone Star Days. Members of participating AZA zoos and aquariums receive up to two tickets at 50% off regular priced admission.

A membership includes 12 months of admission and free parking, and the page says it pays for itself in just two visits. That’s worth a look if you’re local and you’ll be back with your own family. The same page says the aquarium only honors discounts listed on its website or offered by its authorized partners, and no teacher discount is listed there.

Cash Back Routes We Checked

We didn’t find a cash back listing for the Texas State Aquarium. Fluz and TopCashback return not-found pages for it, and Rakuten’s addresses for it load its general page instead of a store page, so there’s no cash back route we can point you to.

What We Couldn’t Confirm

The aquarium’s online ticketing page didn’t load for us, so we couldn’t see whether a ticket type appears only at checkout. The pages we read don’t publish the group or field trip price, and they don’t say how many adults a group booking covers.
