Regal Continental in CENTENNIAL will close as part of Cineworld Group’s bankruptcy and restructuring plan to save $22 million annually by filing for Chapter 11 protection, according to a filing this week that states its intention. Cineworld also plans on working with landlords and looking into “alternative financing and other strategic options.”
Regal is the second-largest theatre chain in the United States with over 570 locations in 42 states as well as American Samoa, Guam, the District of Columbia and Saipan. Regal Entertainment Group was formed when three theater chains–Regal Cinemas, United Artists Theaters and Edwards Theaters–merged under Philip Anschutz. Their company headquarters can be found in Knoxville Tennessee.
Students and university ID holders can take advantage of special privileges at Regal theaters by showing valid school or university identification cards.
