TOMS gives teachers 20% off, verified through ID.me. Its teacher discount page says “TOMS is proud to offer a 20% discount to teachers (exclusions apply),” and the fine print says the discount is available to verified ID.me members only at TOMS.com.
If a pair of TOMS has been on your list, the part to plan around is that TOMS verifies your eligibility each time you shop. Here’s how the page lays it out and what it leaves out.
How To Get The Toms Teacher Discount
The teacher discount page says that for instant access to this discount, you simply verify your teacher status with ID.me, and that it’s free. Each time you shop, TOMS will verify your eligibility for an instant coupon code to be used at checkout. The page has a Verify with ID.me button, and it says to enter the unique promotion code upon checkout.
Who Qualifies
The fine print says you must be a teacher as verified by TOMS or its vendors. It doesn’t say which grade levels or roles count, so we can’t tell you whether a substitute, an aide or a retired teacher would verify. ID.me’s own Toms US page says Toms US has a Teachers discount and/or cash back offer, and its store listing reads “20% off for Teachers.”
What The Discount Leaves Out
The page says the offer only applies to full-priced and markdown items. It says exclusions apply and doesn’t list them. The offer does not apply to gift cards, taxes, shipping or any other fees, and it isn’t valid on previously purchased merchandise, so verify before you order, not after. The limit is one code or use per person.
The page says the offer cannot be combined with other promotions, offers or discounts, other than any shipping promotions that may be in effect. It also says the offer is subject to adjustment due to returns, cancellations or exchanges, so a return or exchange can change the amount. The discount page only mentions TOMS.com, so plan on an online order.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The page doesn’t say which exclusions apply, so we can’t tell you which styles or collections are left out. It also doesn’t say how long a coupon code lasts after it’s generated, or give an end date for the offer. TOMS Shoes, LLC reserves the right to extend, modify or discontinue these offers at any time. We didn’t verify through ID.me or place an order, so we can’t say what the cart shows after the code goes in.
