LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City doesn’t list a standing teacher discount, but it has run a Teacher Appreciation Month with free entry for teachers, and it posts discounted rates for school groups. The center’s event page says teachers receive free entry plus 30% off for friends and family, up to six guests. The dates on that page have passed, so there’s no teacher ticket to book at the moment.
If you were hoping to spend a Saturday with your own kids, or with a niece and nephew who like building things, the terms below are worth knowing in case the event comes back. If you’re planning a class trip instead, the school rates further down are posted now, and they’re the part you can use today.
How To Get The LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City Teacher Discount
Right now there isn’t a teacher discount to claim. The center’s Discount Offers page lists a military offer that’s valid online only through ID.me verification, and it doesn’t mention teachers. The only teacher offer we found is on the Teacher Appreciation Month page, which lists a month of dates, and those dates are behind us.
Here’s how the event worked, so you know what to look for if it comes back. Teachers received free entry plus 30% off for their friends and family, up to six guests, and the page asked you to purchase in advance to reserve your time slot. At admissions you showed a Teacher Employer ID or pay stub. The page also says tickets are limited and have to be booked online in advance.
The Catch With The Free Teacher Ticket
The free teacher ticket wasn’t a stand-alone ticket. The page says that to redeem it you must purchase a 30% off Friends and Family ticket, and that the booking won’t let you complete the transaction without one. It also says adults must be accompanied by a child aged 17 or younger for entry, with children under 2 free.
That means you’d be going with kids and paying for at least one other ticket. A solo visit to scout the place before a class trip isn’t what these terms describe.
Who Counts As A Teacher
The event page asks for a Teacher Employer ID or a pay stub at admissions. It doesn’t name a grade level, a state or a type of school, so we can’t tell you whether a substitute, a preschool teacher or a homeschool parent would be accepted. If that’s your situation, ask the center before you book.
School Group Rates
A class trip is a separate thing from the teacher event, and the Schools page posts rates you can plan around. It says discount rates are available for organized school groups serving children K-6 grade, and that groups must show proof of school ID at check-in. The school year rate is $8 per student and $10 per adult, with 1 free adult for every 5 paying students. A minimum of 10 child tickets is required to get the school rate.
The page lists a higher summer price of $10 per student and $12 per adult, and a combo that includes the SEA LIFE Aquarium at $14 per student and $18 per adult. A LEGO Education workshop can be added for $3 per student. The page describes it for Grades K – 5th and caps it at 20 students per time slot, so a class larger than that would need to be split across time slots.
Booking takes lead time. Reservations are required 7 days in advance, or 3 weeks if you’re adding a workshop, and every reservation is made through the center’s online booking portal.
Visiting On Your Own
Outside the event, the Discount Offers page lists no teacher price. It does say that booking your tickets online in advance guarantees you the lowest prices compared to same-day purchases at the attraction, so if you’re going on a weekend with your own family, book ahead instead of buying at the door.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
We looked for cash back at the three places we usually check. Fluz has a page for Legoland that lists 1.5% cashback on purchases, but it doesn’t mention Discovery Centers, so we can’t say it applies to a ticket here. Rakuten’s address for the center loads its general page instead of a store page, and TopCashback has no page at the address we tried. We aren’t pointing you to a cash back route for this center.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The event page doesn’t say whether Teacher Appreciation Month will run again or when, so check it before you plan around it. ID.me’s page for the center says it has a Teachers discount and/or cash back offer, and its store listing shows Teachers save up to 20%. We couldn’t match that to anything on the center’s own pages, which list only the military offer, so we aren’t promising it. The Schools page also describes its rates for children K-6 grade, and it doesn’t say what an older group pays, so a middle school or high school group should ask before booking.
