Persol gives U.S. teachers 15% off through ID.me, with a $500 cap on the spending it covers and a short list of exclusions worth reading before you pick a frame. The listing is specific about those limits, which makes it easy to plan around if you know what to look for.
ID.me words the offer as 15% off for U.S. Teachers, so it’s aimed at shoppers in the United States. The same 15% shows up for other U.S. community groups on the page, nurses among them. Persol’s own site lists a Steve McQueen group in its sunglasses menu, which happens to be one of the names on ID.me’s exclusion list.
How To Get The Persol Teacher Discount
Start at ID.me’s Persol page, sign in to your ID.me account or make a free one, and confirm that you’re a teacher. ID.me says verified Teachers community members get these savings through ID.me Shop, so use that route instead of going straight to the store.
After you’re verified, build your cart and look for the 15% before you pay. If a frame you picked doesn’t get it, the exclusions below are the likeliest reason.
The $500 Cap
ID.me’s restriction note says max $500 expenditure. We read that as the discount applying to up to $500 of spending, which works out to as much as $75 off at 15%. ID.me doesn’t say what happens to anything over the cap, so if you’re buying more than one pair, work out your total with the cap in mind before you pay.
What Gets Left Out
The note says the offer is excluded on Limited Editions, Steve McQueen, Titanium and Horn. If a frame you like carries one of those names, ask before you count on the 15%. It also says the offer is not stackable on public offers, so a store-wide sale can’t be layered with it, and not cumulable with other discount codes, so a code from an email won’t ride along.
Put together, the offer is simplest on a regular-priced pair that isn’t on the exclusion list. In that case you take the 15% and you’re done.
Prescription Lenses
Persol’s own site has a Persol Prescription Lenses entry in its menu. We couldn’t confirm whether the teacher discount applies to prescription lenses added to a frame, because ID.me’s note doesn’t say. If you’re ordering with a prescription, compare the cart total with and without the lens options before you pay.
Cash Back
ID.me’s page also lists up to 4.0% cash back at Persol. We couldn’t confirm whether you can take that and the teacher discount on the same order, so read the cash back terms on ID.me before you count on both.
