SimpliSafe takes 50% off a new SimpliSafe system for teachers and educators, and its page defines that group as “Including Pre-K, K-12 & Professors.” You get a one-time code by verifying through VerifyPass, and it only works on SimpliSafe.com, only on a new system, in the U.S., for people 18 or over and for personal use.
If you’ve been pricing a doorbell camera or a full system for the house, the part to settle before you verify is the cart. The page says the discount is only valid on any new SimpliSafe system, and each code is limited to one use per customer, so it helps to know what you want in it first.
How To Get The SimpliSafe Teacher Discount
Go to SimpliSafe’s Protectors page and choose Teachers & Educators. When you select Get Started or Receive 50% Off, you’ll be asked to log in to VerifyPass to verify your ID. If you don’t have a VerifyPass account, the page says you’ll need to create a free one, and that there’s a limit of 1 code per 24 hours.
After verification, SimpliSafe says you’ll receive a one-time discount code to apply during checkout. The FAQ puts it as a coupon to use in-cart on any new SimpliSafe system. For future purchases, the page says to return to it and repeat the process.
Who Counts As A Teacher
The Teachers & Educators tile reads “Including Pre-K, K-12 & Professors,” so Pre-K teachers and professors are both named. The FAQ says eligibility goes to members of the military, medical professionals, teachers and educators, and first responders that are verified through VerifyPass. The tile doesn’t list roles beyond those three, so if you’re an aide or a substitute, the VerifyPass check is where you’ll find out. SimpliSafe says codes are provided at its sole discretion and are subject to ID verification.
What The 50% Covers And What It Doesn’t
The discount is only available on SimpliSafe.com and only valid on any new SimpliSafe system. Shipping and taxes may apply. The Protectors offer can’t be combined with other offers from this program or any other SimpliSafe program, and the fine print adds that codes may not be combined with other discount codes, other discounts or promotions, or applied retroactively. If you bought a system last week, the code can’t be applied backwards.
Codes And Limits
Each code is limited to one use per customer and valid for 1 year only, so you don’t have to verify and buy in the same sitting. The program is valid in the U.S. only, for people 18 or over, and it’s for personal use only. SimpliSafe also reserves the right to change or discontinue the program at any time and without notice, including limiting the number of codes per customer or the eligible products.
The page’s closing heading reads “Enjoy 50% off every day as our thanks to you.” In our read of the page, it gives no start or end date and has no Black Friday, Cyber Monday or holiday terms, so what it describes is the standing offer.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t verify through VerifyPass or place an order, so we haven’t seen the code in a cart or the price of a system after 50%. In our read of the page, the terms never mention a monitoring plan, so we can’t tell you whether the discount reaches one. The page says the code is a one-time code and limited to one use per customer, and it also says to return and repeat the process for future purchases. It doesn’t explain how a second system purchase would be handled, so ask SimpliSafe if you’re planning one.
