If you wear glasses to read papers, watch hallway traffic and drive home, Zenni Optical has a teacher discount worth knowing about: 10% off, confirmed through ID.me when you check out. It takes a few minutes the first time and, according to Zenni, one click on later orders.
Zenni Optical sells eyeglasses and sunglasses online, and its site is built around browsing: you can sort frames by shape, filter by price, and use a virtual try-on before you buy. It’s the kind of store where the frames are the hard part and the checkout is the easy one, which is why the teacher discount tends to go unnoticed until you’re looking at the total.
How To Get The Zenni Optical Teacher Discount
Zenni’s teacher discount page says it offers educators a 10% discount on all purchases. Choose your frames and lenses, add them to your cart, and look for the “Verify with ID.me” button there. You’ll sign in to an ID.me account, or make a free one, and confirm that you’re an educator. Zenni lists all educators as eligible. Once ID.me approves you, the 10% comes off your order.
Zenni also says that later orders only need a click on the same ID.me button at checkout, so you don’t start over each time. ID.me’s Zenni Optical page lists the same 10% off for Teachers.
Check Your Other Deals Before You Verify
Here’s the one catch worth planning around. Zenni says that verifying with ID.me and applying the 10% discount overrides all other available discounts and promotions, and that the teacher discount can’t be combined with other promotional codes or offers. ID.me adds that it can’t be applied to gift card purchases either.
That means the order you do things in matters. If Zenni is running a sale or you’ve got a promo code in your email, look at the total with that applied first, then see what 10% does to the same cart. Whichever number is lower is the one to check out with. If the sale is bigger, skip the verify button on that order and keep the teacher discount for the next one.
Have Your Prescription Ready
You’ll need your current prescription to order lenses, and it should include your pupillary distance, the measurement between your pupils. If your eye doctor didn’t write it down, Zenni has a guide to measuring it yourself on its site. Setting that up before you open the cart keeps you from rushing the verification step.
