Ulta Beauty doesn’t list a discount for teachers. The only education-type offer on its own pages is for students: Ulta Beauty Rewards members who verify their student status through SheerID, and a coupon code arrives only while a student offer is live. The savings we could confirm for everyone else are cash back. TopCashback’s Ulta Beauty page says you get 4% of the price back, Rakuten shows 2% Cash Back, and Fluz lists 7% cashback on Ulta Beauty gift cards.
If you’re shopping for the staff gift swap, or restocking your own makeup bag, it helps to know which of those routes is worth a few minutes before you pay. Here’s what Ulta Beauty’s pages say, what each cash back site shows, and the rules that come with each number.
How To Get The Ulta Beauty Teacher Discount
There isn’t a teacher discount to claim at Ulta Beauty. We read its Student Perks page, Rewards page, Rewards FAQ, Rewards Terms & Conditions, company Terms & Conditions and home page, and none of them uses the word teacher or educator. ID.me’s page for Ulta says “We are not aware of ULTA Beauty offering Teachers community discounts.”
Cash back is the route we’d use. TopCashback’s Ulta Beauty page says “Get 4% of the price back with our Ulta Beauty Cash Back offers.” Its terms exclude purchases of gift cards, mystery bags, samplers, gifts with purchase, Dyson products and scheduled in-store pickup orders. They also exclude purchases of Dior products, and TopCashback says cash back is calculated only on the item price, not on taxes, shipping or other fees. Check the number on the page the day you shop.
One rule matters if you like to hunt for codes. TopCashback’s terms exclude the use of a coupon code not displayed on TopCashback, and Rakuten says using coupon codes that aren’t listed on Rakuten may void Cash Back. Look at the codes a cash back site shows before you add one from somewhere else.
What The Ulta Beauty Student Perks Are
Ulta Beauty’s Rewards page has a Student perks tile that reads “Get more as a student with Ulta Beauty Rewards.” The Student Perks page says to join Ulta Beauty Rewards or sign in, then verify your student status for access to student deals and exclusive discounts. Verifying means confirming your name, email, school and date of birth with SheerID, and the page says you don’t need to use your school email address. Only Ulta Beauty Rewards members can access student perks, and the Rewards FAQ says enrollment in Ulta Beauty Rewards is free.
The page is plain about how often a code shows up. Student offers are limited-time promotions, and while you can verify at any time, you only receive a coupon code if there is an offer live. A successful verification is good for one year.
Eligibility is built on enrollment, not on a job. The page says Ulta Beauty Rewards members who are students ages 16+ and currently enrolled in high school, college or post-secondary education at a degree-granting college or university can get the perks. It doesn’t mention teachers.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Three cash back sites have an Ulta Beauty page, and they show three different numbers. TopCashback shows 4%, covered above. Rakuten’s Ulta Beauty page shows 2% Cash Back, and it also lists an “Exclusive 15% Cash Back offer” with the line “Earn more on select products.” We can’t tell you which products those are, so look at the page before you count on the higher number.
Rakuten says Cash Back isn’t available on Dior products or the part of your order paid for with Rewards or Rewards Discount. It also says purchases of any gift card, including e-gift cards, aren’t eligible for Cash Back, and that using coupon codes that aren’t listed on Rakuten may void Cash Back. Its page says Ulta Beauty offers free shipping on orders of $35 or more.
Fluz’s Ulta Beauty page is the one that deals in gift cards, listing “Ulta Beauty gift cards with 7% cashback.” It says the e-gift cards run from $10 to $500 and are redeemable in-store and online. If a gift card is your plan for a colleague, Fluz is the only one of the three that lists cash back on it, since Rakuten and TopCashback both exclude gift card purchases.
About The Teacher Discount You May Have Heard Of
An earlier version of this post said teachers could get a discount at Ulta Beauty in stores and online with a code or a school ID, and listed Rewards birthday offers and discounts from other stores. We couldn’t find the teacher discount on any Ulta Beauty page we read, so we took it out, along with the other stores’ offers.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The pages we read are Ulta Beauty’s online pages. None of them names teachers, but that’s what we found on those pages, not a statement from Ulta Beauty that no store has one, so we can’t say what a store associate would do at the register. We also can’t say whether a teacher who’s currently enrolled in a degree program could use the student perks, because the page doesn’t address it and we haven’t been through the verification.
We don’t know whether a student offer is live right now, since the page says a code is sent only when one is. We didn’t place an order, so we can’t say whether the cash back holds on the products in your bag or what happens when you pay part of an order with Rewards. Rakuten’s page links to Ulta Beauty Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Holiday Gifts pages, which we didn’t open, and none of the Ulta Beauty pages we read gives holiday terms for teachers.
