As a way of thanking teachers for all they do, some auto manufacturers offer special discounts just for teachers. Though less dramatic than military and college grad rebates, these offers can still result in substantial savings while providing an easy buying process.

At present, most major automakers offer educator programs. While many require school affiliation or participation in their buyback program to qualify, some – like General Motors (GM) – allow educators to build their desired vehicle online then generate an offer code from within GM’s website that they present directly to a dealer when purchasing their new car. While not as comprehensive as rebate programs or cash offers, such discounts could potentially save anywhere between $400-1,000 when purchased through one.

Other automakers, such as Honda and Toyota, don’t provide educator discounts nationally, but many dealerships run local promotions that can save you money. JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels feature teacher rewards programs with discounts of up to 30%. Some brands like Samsung and Under Armour provide educator discounts online while Sam’s Club rewards teachers with 50% off new membership fees; plus teachers can earn cash back or other rewards with retailers like Target or Staples loyalty programs!
