What it has is the Scholastic Teacher Store, an educator store whose own page describes its products as “all at a discount,” plus an Educator Welcome Promotion that tops out at $50 off. If your class also runs Book Clubs, those orders earn you rewards.
If you’re building a classroom library one paperback at a time, or you’re the person your school hands the order form to, here’s what each part of Scholastic says, and where its page stops short of giving you a number.
How To Get The Scholastic Teacher Discount
Start at the Scholastic Teacher Store. Under Built for Educators, its page says “Expertly curated products, all at a discount, and many sole-source.” It doesn’t print a percentage, so we can’t tell you how much that discount is.
The Educator Welcome Promotion is the one offer with a figure on the page. It’s one-time use only, with a maximum discount of $50, and it isn’t valid on orders containing non-qualified items. The promo code has to be redeemed in the cart. The page prints an end time for the promotion, so look at it before you plan an order around it. It shows the $50 ceiling but not the percentage.
Promotions, discounts and gift codes apply to the order subtotal, before any taxes, shipping, handling or other fees. They don’t apply to past purchases, subscription products or the purchase of eGift Cards.
Where The Teacher Store Promotions Stop
The page says its promotions are valid for orders from the Teacher Store only. They aren’t valid on Scholastic Store orders, Scholastic Book Club orders, Magazines+ orders or in-school Book Fair orders. So a code from the Teacher Store won’t take anything off a flyer order your students’ families place, or off a purchase at your school’s book fair.
Ordering For A School Or District
The Teacher Store page says you can create, share and order from online quotes, and that you can take advantage of your district or school’s tax-exempt status. Both are about how a school pays, not a price cut for you, so they’re worth a word with whoever handles purchasing at your building before you pay for a classroom set out of your own pocket.
Book Clubs Rewards And Teacher Deals
Scholastic’s Book Clubs rewards page says every order earns rewards for the teacher to help add free books to their classroom library. If your school already uses Book Clubs, that’s where your rewards come from.
The Book Clubs page also has a Special deals all year section. It reads “Just for teachers! Access low prices and exclusive products, like bundles of must-have books and more.” It doesn’t name a price or a percentage.
Cash Back
Rakuten’s page for The Scholastic Store is titled with “No Cash Back.” That listing is for the parent Scholastic Store, not the Teacher Store. We didn’t find a Fluz page or a TopCashback page for Scholastic, and ID.me’s page for the Scholastic Store says it isn’t aware that Scholastic Store offers Teachers discounts. The Teacher Store pricing on Scholastic’s own page is the route to use.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The Teacher Store page doesn’t say how Scholastic checks that an account belongs to an educator, and it doesn’t say who counts as one for the Educator Welcome Promotion. It doesn’t print that promotion’s percentage either, only the $50 maximum. We didn’t create an account or place an order, so ask Scholastic’s customer service before you count on a specific figure.
