Renting a car can be costly, but teachers can find some fantastic discounts that make this necessary expense less onerous on their wallets. Avis is one of the world’s largest rental car companies and they offer special teacher rates across their fleet; whether you need a compact car or SUV rental there will undoubtedly be an Avis discount to meet your needs!
National Education Association: Members of NEA can save at a variety of rental car companies, including Alamo Rent A Car, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and Thrifty. Hertz stands out as offering special promo codes that offer savings up to 25%.
NEA members can also enjoy discounts with Zipcar, the car sharing service offering free mileage rentals. In addition, they can sign up for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership to earn points towards free rentals.
Sixt is one car rental company offering teacher discounts, but not as prominently. Their ISIC card-holder teachers and other school employees can take advantage of an additional 5% discount.
Educators can also find deals in Orbitz’s Daily Deals section, though these deals might not specifically target teachers. When combined with offers specific to teachers (for instance Budget offers up to 25 percent savings and 5 percent of rental fees donated directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand!), savings can add up quickly!
