We couldn’t confirm a teacher discount at Tanger Outlets. Tanger doesn’t offer one on its own site, and we found no Tanger listing on ID.me. What Tanger does have for teachers is a grant program that pays for classroom projects, and a free shopping membership anyone can join, so a trip to the outlets can still cost you less.
Tanger runs outlet shopping centers across the U.S. and Canada, from Asheville, North Carolina, to Ottawa, Ontario. Each center is a collection of brand-name outlet stores, and each store belongs to its own brand. That matters for teachers: if a brand at your center runs its own teacher discount, that discount comes from the brand, not from Tanger, so it’s worth checking the brands you already plan to visit. Our clothing discounts for teachers are a good place to start.
How To Get The Tanger Outlets Teacher Discount
There isn’t a Tanger-wide teacher rate to claim. If you’re heading to a Tanger center, two things will actually save you money:
- Join TangerClub before you go. It’s free, and members get coupons from the brands at the center.
- Look up the specific brands you want to shop. Plenty of clothing and shoe brands run their own teacher programs, and our clothing discounts for teachers are a good place to start.
TangerKids Grants For Your Classroom
The best thing Tanger offers teachers is money for your school. All teachers, guidance counselors, principals and school employees can apply for a TangerKids grant. The grants can pay for special programs, teaching resources, uniforms, gardens, technology or other educational tools, and Tanger also funds school-wide initiatives, updated equipment and academic materials, extracurricular clubs, athletic teams and band programs.
Tanger asks that requests not go over $2,500, since it tries to spread the money across as many parts of each community as it can. In its latest round it awarded 176 grants totaling over $200K. Applications open once a year on the TangerKids grants site, and the current window has closed, so plan your request now and submit it when the next round opens. Once you submit, you can’t edit the application, so proofread it first. Questions go to the Marketing Director at the Tanger center closest to you.
TangerClub Savings
TangerClub is free to join, and the deals depend on your tier. During Tanger Deal Days, member deals run from 15% off up to 25% off. TangerClub Gold costs $20 per year for bigger savings, and Gold members who spend more than $500 in their membership year reach Platinum. Each deal can be used once per day, and your membership works at every Tanger location. Members also get birthday rewards.
Fluz lists 1.5% cashback at Tanger Outlet when you pay with a Fluz virtual card. Each store at a center is its own merchant, though, so we couldn’t confirm which purchases earn it. Rakuten and TopCashback don’t have a Tanger page.
Q&A
Does Tanger Outlets have a teacher discount?
No, not one we could confirm. Tanger doesn’t offer a teacher rate, and there’s no Tanger listing on ID.me. Individual brands at a center may run their own.
Can teachers get money from Tanger?
Yes, through a TangerKids grant. Teachers, counselors, principals and other school employees can request up to $2,500 for classroom and school projects.
Is TangerClub worth joining?
The basic membership is free, so there’s no downside. Gold costs $20 per year and makes sense if you shop at Tanger often.
Does TangerClub work at every center?
Yes. Memberships are valid at all Tanger locations.
More Information:
If a store at your Tanger center advertises its own educator discount, ask at the register how it verifies you, since the rules belong to that brand. For a grant, start from the grants site and keep your request within the $2,500 limit. If you have a question about your application or a local event, the Marketing Director at your nearest center is the person to email.
