T-Mobile gives educators 15% off Experience More or Experience Beyond plans, but only if your employer partners with T-Mobile Work Perks. The discount covers up to 5 voice lines, and you find out whether you qualify by searching for your employer on T-Mobile’s educator page.

That employer check is the part to know about first. The page doesn’t name ID.me or another verification service. It asks for your employer, so the answer depends on where you work.

How To Get The T-Mobile Teacher Discount

T-Mobile’s educator page says educators get exclusive 15% savings, and that if your employer partners with T-Mobile Work Perks you can get a teacher discount on one of its Experience plans. The page has an employer search with a separate line for city, county and state employees, federal employees and private company employees. If you can’t find your organization, the page says to review the search instructions and try again or call 855-570-9947.

Once you’re through, the page says the discount will not take effect for 1 or 2 bill cycles, so the first bill may still show the full price.

What The 15% Covers

The offer is 15% off Experience More or Experience Beyond plans, with Autopay, plus taxes and fees, on up to 5 voice lines. The terms on the page say the savings require 1 new line on Experience More or Experience Beyond, and that the discount is available for new and existing customers while they’re on those plans, which are $85+/mo. with Autopay, plus taxes and fees. You’re asked to validate the new line within 30 days of activation.

The page also says your price is guaranteed for 5 years. The page says taxes and fees, per-use charges, plan add-ons, third-party services and network management practices aren’t included in that guarantee.

The Fine Print Worth Reading

The terms say you must be an eligible employee, active and in good standing, and that reverification may be required. They also say the discount may stop if you cancel any lines, and that it may not be combined with some offers, discounts or promotions. If you’re planning around a phone promotion, ask T-Mobile whether the two stack before you sign up.

How It Compares

AT&T’s teacher page fine print says to save 20% on Premium 2.0, 15% on Extra 2.0 and 10% on Value 2.0 plan lines of service, and our AT&T post covers how that works. Verizon’s teacher page shows a price that includes a 10% monthly discount on each eligible line, and says you need to authenticate yourself using ID.me, and our Verizon post has the details. ID.me’s own T-Mobile discount page says it isn’t aware that T-Mobile offers Teachers discounts, so a T-Mobile teacher offer won’t come up if you only look there. T-Mobile’s page is the one to follow.

Cash Back Sources

Fluz has a T-Mobile page titled 1.5% cashback at T-Mobile. Its description reads like a gift card listing, and we couldn’t tell from it whether the cash back applies to a monthly plan. Rakuten’s address for T-Mobile loads a general page instead of a store page, and we didn’t find a TopCashback page at topcashback.com/t-mobile. We don’t have a cash back rate to report for T-Mobile plans.

What We Couldn’t Confirm

We didn’t run an employer search for any school or district, so we can’t say which ones T-Mobile has on its list. We also didn’t place an order, so we can’t say how the discount looks on a bill or what a plan costs on your lines. The page doesn’t say which employers are partners. It’s not clear whether a private school or a college shows up, so search for yours.
