Oriental Trading doesn’t list a discount for teachers that we could find. What it offers is open to everyone: Fun Rewards+, a paid membership that earns 10% cash back at Oriental Trading and MindWare, and a 10% off offer for signing up for its emails. For cash back on your own order, Rakuten lists 2% and Fluz lists 1.5% at Oriental Trading Company.
If you’re stocking a classroom prize box or planning a party, it helps to know which of these routes cost you something and which don’t. We’ve laid out what Oriental Trading’s own pages say first, then the cash back.
How To Get The Oriental Trading Teacher Discount
There’s no teacher discount to claim, and we found no teacher verification step. We read Oriental Trading’s coupons page, its promotions help page, help center, general information page, orders and payments page and Fun Rewards+ page, along with its teaching supplies and teacher resources category pages, and none of them states a teacher or educator discount.
The coupons page does show an offer of free economy shipping on an order of $25 or more plus $20 off a purchase of $250 or more within the contiguous US, APO, FPO and DPO. It isn’t tied to teachers, and the page says to review each coupon’s eligibility, expiration dates and any restrictions before you complete an order. The button below goes to Rakuten, the cash back route with the highest rate we found.
What Oriental Trading Offers Everyone
Fun Rewards+ is the one with real money attached. The page says you automatically receive 10% cash back on all qualifying purchases from Oriental Trading and MindWare. Your membership starts with a free 30-day trial, and after it your membership automatically renews for $16.95 a month plus applicable taxes until you cancel.
Membership is available to individual residents of the United States (excluding Iowa) who are over 18 years of age. The page also says, “Commercial, organizational, or educational access to the program is not available,” and that benefits are only available for personal, non-commercial use. The cash back is figured on the subtotal after any discounts and promotional codes, and gift card purchases, sales tax, shipping charges and other fees aren’t included in your savings. Because the page rules out educational access, we can’t say whether an order you place for your classroom counts. It’s a route for your own shopping, not a teacher discount.
The footer on the Fun Rewards+ page also says “Get 10% Off Your Order When You Sign Up for Our Emails!” We didn’t find terms for that offer, and nothing ties it to teachers.
Buying For A School
Oriental Trading’s co-op page says that if you’re with a school, nonprofit or government agency, you can order through your existing co-op contract. It partners with cooperative purchasing networks to offer contract-based pricing to schools, nonprofits and government agencies, with no bidding required, and the page lists a Classroom and Teaching Aids, Supplies and Entertainment contract at 5% off and free shipping on orders over $150. That pricing is written for schools, so ask whoever handles purchasing at yours.
Flo’s PTO is a free loyalty program the page says is crafted exclusively for Parent Teacher Organizations and Associations. It comes with a reusable promo code that can be shared with your fellow PTO members, teachers and school community, valid all year long for orders of all sizes. The page doesn’t state what the code saves, and we didn’t follow its program terms, so if your school has a PTO, ask them whether they have one.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Rakuten’s Oriental Trading Company page lists 2% Cash Back. It says Cash Back isn’t available on the purchase or redemption of gift cards or on purchases deemed to be in bulk or for resale, and that use of coupon or promotional codes not listed on Rakuten may void Cash Back. Fluz’s Oriental Trading Company page says in its offer terms to get 1.5% cashback on purchases at Oriental Trading Company, and it adds that offers are subject to change.
We didn’t find an Oriental Trading page on TopCashback at four addresses we tried. Rakuten warns that codes it doesn’t list may void Cash Back, so check the portal’s terms before you add a promo code, and read the rate on the portal before you pay. You can start from our Rakuten page or Fluz page.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We can’t say what Flo’s PTO code saves, what the email sign-up offer requires, or whether a classroom order earns Fun Rewards+ cash back. Neither the Fun Rewards+ page nor the coupons page mentions Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
We didn’t place an order or join Fun Rewards+, so we haven’t seen cash back post to an account or watched a promo code apply at checkout.
