NEA Shop & Dine

NEA Shop & Dine is a separate cash-back program on the same NEA membership, easy to miss if you only know the union for its financial-benefits page. Confirmed on NEA Member Benefits’ own product page.

NEA is the National Education Association, the country’s largest teachers’ union. Its own site puts membership at 3 million, spanning classroom teachers, education support professionals, higher ed faculty, and retired members. Shop & Dine is one of the benefits that comes bundled with dues.

What You Get

Up to 10% cash back at more than 300 stores nationwide, discounted gift cards at another 3,500-plus retailers, and dining discounts up to 50% off at over 170,000 participating restaurants. New accounts also get their first $1,000 in “Savings Dollars” on signup, a separate credit toward travel, shopping, and dining bookings through the program. It doesn’t stack with the cash-back rewards above and doesn’t apply to flights or restaurant.com gift cards, so treat it as a fourth, separate perk rather than a bigger version of the other three. It runs like a standard cash-back shopping portal, not a single-brand discount.

Who Qualifies

Paying NEA members, same membership that covers the loan and insurance benefits. There’s no separate signup or fee for this program specifically.

How to Claim It

Log into NEA Member Benefits and go to the Shop & Dine product page to browse participating stores and restaurants, and to claim the new-account Savings Dollars if you haven’t already. Cash back and gift card discounts are tracked through NEA’s portal, so shop by clicking through from there rather than going straight to the retailer.

Shop & Dine is one piece of a bigger set of benefits tied to NEA membership. See the full list in 5 Must-Know Financial Benefits Available to Teachers.
