HelloFresh gives verified teachers 55% off the first box, free shipping on that first box, and 15% off the next 51 boxes, according to HelloFresh’s own discount page. That’s a long run for a single verification, and it’s most useful if you’d like a few school-night dinners off your plate.
HelloFresh sells meal kits, and the third step on its discount page promises meals delivered to your door. The teacher offer isn’t a coupon code you hunt for. It sits behind an identity check, and the terms are written around an auto-renewing subscription, so it’s worth knowing what you’re signing up for before you click.
How To Get The HelloFresh Teacher Discount
Open HelloFresh’s discount program page. It asks you to choose a verification provider. The page describes ID.me as a trusted platform for students, teachers, military and more, and it labels the other option, GovX, as exclusively for military and first responders. As a teacher, you’re choosing ID.me.
The page then lays out three steps. Step one is to click the ID.me button and provide your information, and the group list in that step names teachers. Step two is the savings: the page says new and former customers will see them automatically at checkout. Step three is to check out with your discount.
What The Offer Gives You
The page puts the offer in one line: 55% off the first box, free shipping, and 15% off the next 51 boxes. The terms spell it out a little more, saying to take 55% off your first box and 15% off the next 51 boxes, including free shipping on the first box. ID.me’s HelloFresh page says the same for teachers, listing 55% off the first box plus 15% off ongoing for a year.
Free shipping applies to the first box only. ID.me’s restrictions say a shipping fee applies on all deliveries after the first box, so plan for that cost from the second box on. The page also says discounts vary for other meal plans and sizes, which means the dollar amount you save depends on the plan you pick. We couldn’t confirm a dollar figure for a typical plan.
The Fine Print
A few terms decide whether this works for you. The discount may only be used for future orders, not previous ones, so verify before you place an order rather than after. It can’t be used in combination with any of HelloFresh’s other promotions, and the terms add gift cards to that list, so a public sign-up deal and the teacher offer are an either-or.
The terms say the offer can only be used once, by new customers with a qualifying auto-renewing subscription purchase, or by customers whose account was deactivated over a day before redemption. That second group is how a lapsed subscriber can still qualify. The offer expires 380 days after offer purchase, which lines up with the 51 discounted boxes after the first one.
The offer isn’t valid on premiums, meal upgrades or taxes. The page says it’s void outside the U.S., and that HelloFresh has the right to end or modify any offer at any time, so the terms you see when you verify are the ones that count.
A Note On Who Qualifies
One thing on the page doesn’t line up. The how-it-works step names teachers among the groups who can verify. The FAQ answer to who qualifies lists medical providers, nurses, hospital employees and military and veterans, and doesn’t repeat teachers. ID.me’s HelloFresh page does list teachers at the same rate as the other groups, and ID.me says HelloFresh is one of the hundreds of retailers offering special savings for verified Teachers community members through ID.me Shop. We went with the step and the ID.me listing, but we couldn’t reconcile the FAQ, so check that the discount shows up in your cart before you pay.
