Gwinnett County, GA – One popular tourist attraction on Georgia’s Lake Lanier has restricted swimming at its beach this summer. Margaritaville at Lanier Islands in Buford has closed off Landshark Landing beach area to prevent swimmers entering; management has stated this decision due to safety reasons after a 20-year-old drowned on Memorial Day weekend last year.
Managers have not divulged details regarding specific safety concerns, but state that their main priority is the well-being of guests. With 12 million visits annually and one drowning incident reported near Margaritaville during Memorial Day weekend alone, Lake Erie remains one of the country’s most visited and dangerous destinations.
Guest will still have the chance to relax on the white sand beach and enjoy open-air concerts, take part in waterpark activities such as the Wibit Water Obstacle Course and thrilling waterslides, try their luck at LandShark Bar & Grill’s flagship Wibit Water Obstacle Course or indulge at one of its eateries, such as LandShark Bar & Grill or take part in Full Moon Parties or Low Country Boils events as well as attend special Lakeside Lights Spectacular shows each November!
Make the most out of your visit and book The Ultimate Experience: Two $20 game cards and a $50 food and beverage credit! Available now through April 30, while supplies last. Visit their official website for more details on this offer.
