How To Get The Ring Teacher Discount
Go to Ring’s Give-Back page, click Get Code and sign into VerifyPass. Ring says that after verification you’ll receive a one-time discount code to apply during checkout. Its support article adds that the discount requires VerifyPass ID verification and is available for the U.S. only.
For future purchases, Ring says to return to the page and repeat the first step, and that the limit is 1 code per 24 hours. The code goes in at checkout on Ring.com, and Ring says the discount doesn’t apply to past purchases.
Who Counts As A Teacher
Ring’s support article says the discount is available for military personnel, first responders, teachers, students and medical workers. In our read of that article and the Give-Back page, neither says whether “teachers” means K-12, college or both, so if you’re a paraprofessional, a substitute or an adjunct, the verification step is where you’ll find out.
When It Works And When It Doesn’t
This is the term that matters most for a holiday shopper. The support article lists “Not valid during sales events” and says the Give-Back discount can’t be combined with other offers, giving Cyber Monday, Black Friday and the 10% discount as examples. The collection page says the same about its 20%: it can’t be combined with other Ring discounts. So if Ring is running a sale on the camera you want, compare the sale price with 20% off the regular price, because the page says you can’t have both.
What It Covers And What It Doesn’t
The discount is only valid for eligible Ring products. Ring’s discount collection page is organized into doorbell cameras, security cameras, security systems and smart lighting, and it says to get 20% off select Ring.com purchases for military, medical, first responders and more. Since it says select purchases, check each item’s page before you assume it’s in.
The exclusions are plain. Ring says discounts can’t be applied to Ring subscription services, and that the discount isn’t valid for Ring Assist+, third-party devices or Ring subscriptions. It can’t be applied to past purchases, and shipping and taxes still apply. If you’re pricing a full system, price the hardware and any plan separately.
One Code, And The 10% Discount
Ring’s two pages word the code limit differently. The support article says one code per person, and the Give-Back page says 1 code per 24 hours for future purchases. If you need a second code, check the Give-Back page for the current wording before you count on one.
Ring also has a separate 10% discount for an active Ring subscription or trial. It activates the next time you log in after purchasing a subscription and is applied automatically at checkout. The support article lists the 10% discount among the offers the Give-Back discount can’t be combined with, so you use one or the other.
