Silhouette America has an Educator Discount Program, and its own education page describes it. The savings apply to products bought through SilhouetteAmerica.com for qualifying educational facilities and licensed non-profit organizations. The page doesn’t publish a percentage, so we aren’t going to print one.
Silhouette America makes the Silhouette cutting machines, such as the Cameo and Portrait, plus the design software and the vinyl, cardstock and heat transfer materials that go with them. Its home page says the tools are for entrepreneurs, small businesses, hobbyists and educators. For a teacher, that usually means classroom signs, labels, bulletin board letters and folded paper models. See more tech discounts for teachers where a rate is confirmed.
How To Get The Silhouette America Educator Discount
The program runs through a Silhouette account. Silhouette’s education page says: “To apply, simply log in to your Silhouette account and verify your educational or non-profit status.” Once approved, you get access to special pricing on machines, materials and accessories. The page also says you must be logged in to apply, so create an account first if you don’t have one. Silhouette’s wording puts approval first and the special pricing second, so don’t expect to see a discounted price until your status is verified.
One detail to read carefully: the wording is about qualifying educational facilities and licensed non-profit organizations. It doesn’t say individual classroom teachers buying for themselves qualify, and it doesn’t say which documents count as proof. Older teacher-discount lists describe emailing a teaching certificate to Silhouette, but we couldn’t find that process on Silhouette’s current page, so treat it as out of date.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We couldn’t see the discount percentage, which products are covered beyond machines, materials and accessories, or whether it can be combined with a sale. Silhouette’s education page is the only place we found the terms, and the account application sits behind a login we didn’t use. We also didn’t find a cash back page for Silhouette on Fluz or TopCashback, so there’s no cash back route to point you to.
If you’re buying a machine for your own classroom with your own money, email Silhouette customer service before you check out and ask whether you qualify under the program’s facility wording. A written answer is worth more than a guess.
