Tens of thousands of people are missing out on a substantial discount scheme offered by Asda, Sainsbury’s and designer fashion retailer TK Maxx – with each providing money off for teachers through its Discounts For Teachers scheme (DFT). Unfortunately not many know about or know about its existence – which offers money off for free membership of DFT.
Teachers also benefit from free software and discounts from Google, Microsoft and Samsung; plus if their school makes the Google for Education list of eligible schools they could get a free account in the online store offering exclusive deals and promotions.
But despite discounts available to education workers, living expenses continue to rise and teachers face pay cuts due to the freeze in pension contributions and cancellation of annual pay reviews. So how can teachers make ends meet while still taking time off for vacation?
Teachers can save money in various ways, such as carpooling with colleagues or qualifying for a railcard to reduce commuter costs. Plus, many employers and suppliers offer staff benefits like discounts on gym memberships, childcare vouchers or financial services deals that could add up.
Some retailers also provide loyalty program discounts to their most loyal customers, in the form of monetary discounts, complimentary samples, early entry into sales events and bonus loyalty points. Furthermore, for shoppers who love Black Friday shopping events there may also be great offers during this event from certain sellers.
